How is the corona virus affecting you?

Do you reckon he's going to make it to November?

Hey, I still have not ruled out him winning re-election. Gotta' wait for the "October Surprise" I'm sure his campaign is working on. That, and motor turnout. If turnout is high, Biden wins. If turnout is record low, like 2016, Trump wins.

Besides, a lot of Americans believe the reason we are seeing new records being set for cases in a day/week, is because were testing more, as if all those positive tests don't matter.

I was thinking more of him lasting physically and mentally. That long walk from Marine 1 on Saturday night he looked like a broken man.

My Father's Day dinner was at home. I cooked 8 ounce sirloin steaks in a cast iron pan (my new favorite way to cook steaks), and sauteed a bunch of mushrooms. We also made potato wedges (baked, but brushed with bacon grease). Probably the best (and maybe the cheapest) Father's Day dinner I've ever had.
I too love the cast iron skillet for steaks. No way my husband can overcook them if I do it inside. It's not entirely his fault, when the wind blows and it's snowing outside, plus with it getting dark early in the winter, I started doing them inside so I could be sure my steak was medium rare and it just turned into a habit.

Isn't it funny how a holiday that celebrates YOU ends up costing YOU money? :D

Did you neuter him? They calm down a lot after that, but little boy pugs, especially little black guys, seem to have issues with potty regardless life long, especially #2, it's like they have no control. The little black guy I had previously, would "bite" when playing for the longest time and had a tendency to badly react (think Cujo) to being yelled at and/or swatted. I think the person who had him before abused him to a certain extent because he was absolutely terrified of grocery size paper bags and newspaper being rattled. The vet figured he was about a year old when we got him and it took a very long time for him to calm down completely. It took me years to be able to cut his nails without an all out fight with squirming, squealing and trying to bite.

The one we have now just turned 5 and he barks at EVERYTHING, and will not hush, even if it's just a chuff at the end so that he can have the last word. He's also a car/other dog/duck chaser if he gets the chance, which is not often, but he does catch us unaware on rare occasions and jerks the leash out of our hands. He's also EXTREMELY protective of me and our female pug. He doesn't want any stranger coming up to us and has a fit, but then when the person makes nice, he's all for pets from them.
You guys talking about dogs gave me a laugh, daughters dog is medium size about 8, is a sook. He's sleeping beside me here on the couch, his legs are shaking and jumping. I think he dreaming of chasing a rabbit. Funny thing you mention about dog clipping their feet, daughter has same trouble, she tried a few weeks ago and dog was shivering and shaking like hell. I said that's not normal. I've bred German shepherds so know about dogs. She said he's shocking, when she last took him he was that frightened he wet the floor. Daughters going to get a mobile piufit out to wash him and do his feet. Not her problem then, lol. He's a really nice dog, I will miss him when they move.

Well, I can say my legs, arms, and head/face are darker than they usually are.

First, it's been a hot/bright Spring, and I've been outside more than I usually am, just doing yard work, planting flowers, all that stuff.

Second, because I'm not really going anywhere, I've been wearing a lot of shorts and t-shirts. This is significant because I was raised in the very firm belief that no self-respecting grown-azz man should ever, under any circumstance whatsoever, ever wear short pants or short-sleeved shirts, especially t-shirts. Short pants are for females and schoolboys. Period. That's how I was raised.

The fact that I don't really have anywhere to go and the heat has made me rethink that a bit, and now my skin has gone from paler than a virginal miss in a Jane Austen book to...ever so slightly less pale than a virginal miss in a Jane Austen book.

Lol, I grew up with shorts and longs. I'm pretty much shorts and black singlet every day, unless we're going out in public.

Where I lived in Florida, all the guys wore shorts almost year round unless they were professionals, then they wore business casual or suits, or some type of uniform if they were bartenders, servers, or chefs.

When I had my business I was black trousers white shirt and tie. About 15 years ago I went to polo tops. Threw all my good shirts out except one or two for funerals etc. just got sick of ties.

Back when I was going into the office, I usually wore a shirt, tie, and some kind of waistcoat or pullover during the cold months. I was the only one who did that, as over the years, they modified the dress code to the point that if I'd wanted to come in wearing sweatpants, I could have.

Went out yesterday with MrsTasty to a doc's appointment, and I wore a tie and a summery vest with that, just to get to wear something nice again. The nurse who always sees my wife, she's funny, she said, "Oh, Mr. Tasty, you look like you just stepped out of a magazine!," and I told her, "Depending on which magazine, that might not be a good thing!" My wife: 😒

More confusion here today. The former Chief Scientific Officer, Prof. Dave King, released a statement this morning warning that it was too early to ease out of lockdown. A couple of hours later, Bungling Boris announced that based on advice from the current Chief Scientific Officer it is now safe to do so. I know who I believe. The advice is now that we should stay 2m apart, unless you can't, in which case 1m is fine, but 1m+ would be better. Confused yet? Unlimited number of members of two households can meet at home together, but only two at any one time but it can be a different two at another time. In other words, I can entertain every family in the village in my home, say, consecutively, 1 hour each for the entire week. Or only six people from different households at any one time in my garden. Unless we all go to the pub when it re-opens next week, whereby none of these rules apply. If I am confused, what about the terminally stupid in society, of which there are many - most of them were in Tesco this morning. Rules need to be simple, clearly communicated and well understood to have even the slightest chance of being followed. All this on the day that Germany, previously having done a rather better job of things than us is having to re-impose lockdown due to a second wave of infections. I really do despair. Is it too early for a drink?
