How is the corona virus affecting you?

I rec'd the first jab of Pfizer yesterday. April 16th for the second jab. Hearing the above it seems Pfizer reactions, if there are any, are mostly after 2nd jab..Fingers crossed I have no reaction. The 17th is a Saturday and non workday for me / don't want to be feeling bad on the weekend 😁😁😁.. priorities😁😁😁

Good news about your first jab yesterday and all the best for the second one :thumbsup:

Health workers are the only ones getting the jab that I know of. They are talking July, for the rest but I have my doubts. They set dates to make dates for travel bubbles.

I would guess that they are more selective where you are, because you’re in one of the very few countries that actually handled the pandemic properly.I would guess that they are more selective where you are, because you’re in one of the very few countries that actually handled the pandemic properly.

Samoa who had no deaths, Taiwan also did better than us, Australia economy is firing again but we are lagging behind. Our minister of tourism visited the glaciers (huge tourists) and said we have nothing for you. But they are spending a million dollars a day for homeless into motels. That's not good in my opinion. You may hear glossy stuff about our country, it's not true

PabloLerntKochen: I am just learning of new German words related to the pandemic:
  • anderthalbmetergesellschaft - 1 1/2-meter society,
  • coronamüde - COVID fatigue
  • impfdrängler - vaccine envy (when someone gets the vaccine and you haven’t had it yet)
Are there any others you are hearing?

German is fairly unique in the way that words are combined to create new words. Are people in other countries hearing anything similar?

I hope you are both well now. Do I understand correctly that after the second shot people had to enter hospital?

I have not hear any (credible) information suggesting any hospitalizations. Another rumor spread on the internet.

I had virtually no side effects, other than a slightly sore arm the next morning, after the first shot. My sister, who had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine (same one I got), felt fine after both shots.

My daughter's broken pinky toe is healing well. Two weeks have passed. Doc said no need to re-check if all is fine. It is so far.🍀👍

I broke a pinky toe about 20 years ago. I accidentally kicked a chair leg barefoot while running to answer the phone. That was extremely painful. There is nothing a doctor can do to fix it. They just taped the broken toe to the next toe. It took a long time to heal. If you look at an X-ray taken after a few months, the two pieces of the bone don't line up, and never will.

We have some people with messed up feet on this forum, eh? I broke a bone in my left big toe, and didn’t realize it until years later. Seriously. I started doing taekwondo, and injured it along the way. I have a bump on my big toe now, where the bone fused together badly. And, no: I will not be sharing a picture of that.

I should have taken a break to let it heal. But, I was too manly to take a break. Besides, I was single: what else was I going to do with my time?

I don't know how you didn't know it was broken, or at least suspect it enough to go to a doctor.

Granted, I could tell just by looking at my pinky toe that it was definitely broken. Toes don't bend they way mine was bent. But, the pain was also incredible. I drove to the ER -- it was my left pinky toe, and both of my cars had manual transmissions. I started of in 2nd gear, and up-shifted to 4th. When I got to the ER, the doctor gave me a shot of Novocain, and then did an X-ray. The pain was that bad.

People don't realize just how much our toes do in the normal process of just walking.

Yeah in Dutch.

'Coronamoeheid' = corona fatigue
'Vaccinatiebereidheid' = Vaccination willingness
'Anderhalvemetermaatschappij' = 1 1/2 metre society
'Amateurviroloog' = amateur virologist (ie someone who thinks they know better than the experts)
'Vaccinatiegraad' = amount of vaccinations placed nationally

Etc. We've got tons of them.
