How is the corona virus affecting you?

Kroger also operates under a host of other names:

Supermarkets – Kroger, Ralphs, Dillons, Smith’s, King Soopers, Fry’s, QFC, City Market, Owen’s, Jay C, Pay Less, Baker’s, Gerbes, Harris Teeter, Pick ‘n Save, Metro Market, Mariano’s

Multi-department stores – Fred Meyer,
Dillons Marketplace, Fry’s Marketplace, King Soopers Marketplace, Kroger Marketplace, Smith’s Marketplace

Price-impact warehouse stores – Food 4 Less, Foods Co

For the record, I got my vaccine at Kroger (Moderna), just because that's who had an appointment when I wanted to go. They did a good job with it, but it wasn't busy at all either time I went (March and April).

Holy smokes! I didn't know they owned all those stores. I never heard of Harris Teeter until I moved to N.C. I really liked their selections and they did curbside pickup which was great when I had surgery on my knee. The department manager was very kind to me and gave me free groceries for three months after my husband left me. She was a sweetheart.

I was reading some stuff on the border situation and they were saying they are releasing immigrants into the communities without testing them. Or, they test them and still release them with instructions to self-quarantine. Have you noticed an upsurge in cases where you are?

No. Immigration is not nearly the "problem" in Texas that people up North think it is. We need comprehensive immigration reform, but immigrants from Mexico are not causing every problem they get blamed for.

Oh, I never believed all the hype. I'm not big on stereotyping people or places. It really bothers me when other people do it. My caregiver is a gem but she is a huge Trump fan so she whines about Biden constantly. One of her other clients is a Trump supporter so I can always tell when she's been watching the news over there. She is fit to be tied when she gets ramped up.

Kroger is the dominant chain in Dallas, and in Houston. They are everywhere. We even have one of their gigantic Kroger Marketplace stores here in Frisco.

On topic, Kroger stores here in Frisco had really weak vaccine efforts. They only did vaccines for an hour or two per day.

But, I'm still seeing pretty good mask compliance at Kroger and Walmart.

Yeah, I've shopped them in Houston many times prepandemic. Well actually Missouri City, a suburb south of Houston where my brother lives. I've also shopped Kroger in South Carolina (curbside). Out in Phoenix they are called Frys.

I just shopped Harris Teeter in Virginia a week ago.

My oldest brother is a rump supporter too

Cool. You took a little road trip?
We stayed at a resort where we were able to socially distance quite easily. Each unit had it's own entrance. Here's the pool on most days during our stay:

On days when there were more than 10 people we didn't go to the pool. That solo person by the pool is my husband.

I must say that I do stereotype in some circumstances. It's called demographics, and there is a reason for stereotyping in market research. I did a lot of work in that field. Yes, of course many people break the mold, so to speak. It's interesting. But the reason stereotypes exist is because the majority of people in any given population fall into categories. This can be an ever changing thing.

I've never seen demographics and stereotyping as the same thing. Not in the slightest.
