I’ve got the opposite wall in the kitchen ready for paint, now I just need to run into town and get the materials.

Take the car..You look funny when you run....

I say that to gf every time..you can probably guess what she says to me right after..

Big day here today..my oldest daughter's birthday dinner..having Waygu steaks..sadly, my youngest daughter will have to miss as she tested positive for covid two days ago...she is feeling like she has a flu, but nothing too concerning,..what sucks is that out of all of us, she is the biggest steak fan...I froze hers for when she is free to roam amongst the people again...

I'm getting myself ready to head out for the day.
On the list:
Stop into the Home Improvement store to order our new dishwasher
Drop off some homemade Black Bean Soup to two of my Gal Pals
Go over to my Mother's apartment in the Senior Living Community to assist her in bathing and washing her hair ... I just got Mom out of the hospital after 4 days in the joint. I asked her to wait for me to help with getting cleaned up, just in case ... she's still a little unsteady.

Dad is still in the hospital. I don't want him to go home until we know for sure he is good to go. I don't want him to go home, and be back in the hospital a day or few later. My dad really needs a shower and a shave. We are lobbying the male nurses to help him get a shower as soon as possible. The shave will have to wait.

I was going to ask how Dad is ... and what about Mom? How's she doing?

Mom kept asking while in the hospital if she could shower, but they wouldn't let her :scratchhead:
The Community that she's in now has a separate State Certified company that can come in to help with simple tasks like that when needed... yeah, but they want a minimum of 15 minutes for $35 ... I spent less in gas to drive over there and help her, with a big plus of-she was much more comfortable with me helping her bath, get dressed and comb her hair for her.

Footnote: when I was putting away the food that I brought her (soup, cut-up cantaloupe and watermelon) I asked her if she had any breakfast, "yeah a piece of toast ... ya know I'm hungry, can I have some of that soup?"
I'm glad that her appetite is back, she didn't want to eat in the hospital. She said she didn't like their food, she likes mine better 🤗

Plans ought to include collapsing in a corner for a day of rest but they don't oddly.

They do include pizza flavoured kale crisps, another batch of pear chutney, a batch of plum chutney and chasing chicks around the garden trying to round them up. They've worked out that they can get through the electric fence that's in the garden whilst I am repairing it. It's a dedicated poultry electric fence but it's not connected which is most of the problem, so right now they are out free roaming in the farm....

And then the final event of the day, hubby's work's Christmas meal... with any luck it won't get cancelled yet again. Previous reasons include staff testing positive, staff being in the same room as someone testing positive (rules were tighter at Christmas), staff being in leave and forgetting (that'll be the boss) and the venue canceling because they had a wedding reception book the same day. The good news is that this venue actually have dedicated vegan menu so I have no idea what I'm eating later on today.

Mom is doing fine. She is gaining confidence that she can get along on her own. I spent some time with her every day I was down there, and was impressed with how well she was taking all of this.

Dad will probably leave the hospital Friday or Saturday. We have arranged for him to go to the rehab facility at their retirement community when he gets out. He will be transported there, and they can work with him every day for a few weeks, to get him stronger and more stable before he goes back to the apartment. My mom will be able to visit him every day, too.

My parents are fortunate. My dad is a retired oil executive (President of a Fortune 500 company), so money is not a problem. They can afford to have the best possible care. I feel for people going through the same things who don't have those deep pockets. My sister's status at the hospital he is in also gets him special treatment.

Ditto! My parents had the foresight to create a trust and fund it well.
The one hurdle that we've had with my Mom (my Father passed in 1996) is to convince her now that she doesn't need to leave those monies to my sister and I, she should be using that for her care, period. I'm pretty much there with that at this stage. I think that stay in the hospital opened her eyes, she's not indestructible, a very good lesson for myself as well!

We will be giving guinea boy Rolo a bath, with him being fluffy he gets mucky so that will be fun.
In the garden this afternoon, we had a frost overnight so just just need to give the lawn time to dry out.
