Lying in bed watching tv, lol. Getting up early tomorrow to pack up some clothes, snacks, and other stuff, then we are driving 20 minutes to our hotel on the west side that has an outdoor pool for 2 nights. Sunny and mid to high 80s for the next few days.

I am a member of a hotel loyalty program which I use to book my rooms for work projects. Every 10 stays members get a free night (excluding taxes) so I only had to pay $50 total for 2 nights! And that includes a free continental breakfast each morning 🌄 😋

I get extras with my room in welly or Auckland when there. $380 night includes snacks and food throughout the day. I'm allowed 1 guest. Butcher will be my guest.

Mowing the grass later, weather should be good for it, though the ground will probably be a little sloppy in spots due to all the rain the last several days.

Also potting the first of the mums. This is the earliest I’ve ever bought mums, but ALDI had them for $4 each so I got a couple to try.

MrsT is meeting friends for supper out tonight, so I’m on my own this evening. That probably means spooky-cheesy ‘70’s horror movie.

Also doing laundry today.

The shining is my favorite horror novel ❤️

That’s what I was thinking…no dogs, lots of grass, good shade, and then here comes that jerk on the mower to ruin it all.

I accidentally killed a bunny in my backyard once. It was dark, and I thought it was a rat. After I killed it, I got a better look, and saw the big ears.

I looked around the yard, and there were more bunnies hidden in the bushes. The mother rabbit had run off, apparently -- probably when I came outside.

Kate used to kill rabbits all the time, that never bothered me so much because it was just a dog being a dog and she was always quick about it.

When we lived in Minnesota, our (much smaller) yard was full frogs. There was no way I could mow the grass without slaughtering a dozen frogs or more.

I did not lie. First I started with this classic 1970’s British anthology series:

89527

Then I ended with a gloriously ridiculous ‘80’s horror movie:

89528

Oh, that thing was just awful, in the best way.
