Even had the required gratuitous nude shower room scene.

That’s it! I was reading about it afterwards on IMDb and one of the trivia items was that the extras for the shower scene (hey, it was the ‘80’s; a documentary about the economic policies of the Washington administration would have had a gratuitous nude shower scene!) were all from a casting agency for adult films.

There used to be a drive in movie theater in Denton (where UNT is, my alma mater) that had a dollar night that features sleazy B movies like that. We would load up our cars with beer coolers and go from time to time. The place was full of college students doing the same thing.

Have you ever watched The Ring?

Edited: oops because I somehow missed it was 70s and The Ring was much later.
I think I've watched just about all of them, or at least loads. But yes I mentioned the shining because it was about the 70's. I have the novels of both the shining and ring at home. I like both stories.

Today is MrsT’s birthday. She’s a little mopey, but then she’s usually that way. I’m going to sneak out to the German bakery and get her a little bite-sized Black Forest cake thingy they make.

We’ve got to get on with our vacation planning, though. We’ve got a few things to order, and we’ve got the London end of our break to finalize. I’m planning on doing some of that today.

My son is a fan of gory stuff that freaks me out, lol, like The Saw. I don't mind gore if it's campy and obviously fake, then I actually find it comical. Scary movies I prefer to be not too bloody and really just more suspenseful.

I can't remember how many times my admission to "Jaws" was paid for, because I thought it was comical, laughing through most of the movie. I had lots of girls sitting close to me and sometimes in my lap.
Yeah, I was still preteen and it didn't make me afraid to go back in the water, lol.

The Shining was not the kind of movie that TR loves to watch. It had a budget, and real actors.

I packed a bunch of snacks food like deviled eggs, shrimp cocktail, cheese and crackers, and fruit for our mini staycation at a hotel in Akron 20 miles from home. Plus we brought beer, wine, and bottled water. We checked into the hotel around 2 yesterday, put our stuff in the room, and went to the pool for 3 hours. Gorgeous day! Then we ate snacks and had a few drinks in the room and got settled in. We went to a cool tacqueria last night about 3 blocks away that we'd never been to before that had a really nice outdoor seating area. I had the smoked pulled pork tacos and hubby had chorizo and goat cheese tacos. They were awesome. Today we spent the entire afternoon at the pool with beer, water, and snacks, another gorgeous day. Tonight we are drinking wine and having snacks on the hotel outdoor patio ( hubby's wine) then we are going to get takeout dinner at the on-site restaurant to eat out on the patio.

Driving 25 minutes back home tomorrow, lol. Been nice though, it's felt a lot like a real vacation!

Didn't you just do the same thing a few weeks ago?
Yes, when we were having work done on the house. We stayed at a lovely Residence Inn, and you made me think of that and maybe we should do that again, soon!
