Ooh - I want one too but can't justify the cost. My 2014 MacBook Pro is still working OK (except it doesn't hold charge). The latter doesn't matter to me as I don't use it 'on the move'.
 
Today I see the neurosurgeon about my neck.
That's really the only plan. Fingers crossed he thinks things are bad enough for surgery. I'm only just coping/surviving at present, not living or thriving, just surviving.

I've also got a follow up gynae appointment for some blood test results and we were going to go out around Canberra's Floriade (and lunch out) but we've had over 3cm of rain overnight and it's still raining and with hubby only having gotten home in the early hours of this morning from Brisbane, we may end up giving it a miss. It finishes in 10 days time so, we might have another attempt at it... Plus is also the tulip gardens to visit, again that ends in 10 days time as well.

Best of luck to you. It seems odd to wish you luck for something to be “bad enough,” but let’s hope you hear some good news today.

As you say, it's ironic to be hoping the surgeon thinks things are bad enough to risk surgery on, but that's what I really need.

Bugger... and more.

Many more tests needed but even if it is my neck that needs surgery, he won't do it. He no longer had access to a multidisciplinary ICU hospital, so I'll need a new surgeon if neck surgery is needed (which at some point it will be) but it may not be the cause of my hand issues!

As per the Apple/Adobe plan to make people like me buy new computers every five years (at least), my five-year-old MacBook won't run the software I need it to run. It has become, basically, an email and web surfing machine.

You have a new round of tests coming up, then? Do you know when those will kick off?
 
I actually have a little scheduled work to do today (a lot of my job is fixing things as they break, so having some pre-determined things to do is a bit of a rarity).

I'm on-call this week, and I've gotten called twice, but both times were between 6AM-6:30AM, so that's not bad at all, as I'm already stirring. One of those weird things, though; when I'm on call, all of my difficult overnight stuff seems to happen Thursdays and Fridays, for whatever reason, so now I'm in the danger zone, starting today. We'll see.

I haven't been to the grocery store since Monday, so I'm feeling the pull to go, but I don't really have much on my list. I may try to hold out until Saturday and go on a little adventure to a farther-flung grocery store.

Sorry to hear that. What else could be the cause of the hand issues?

I'm so sorry to hear that! :hug:

Is a second opinion possible? If you're suffering so much this is awful.. I really hope you can find a willing surgeon!
 
Still - hurry up and wait!
We have passed on 4 'ambulance chasers' knocking on our door, "can I fix your roof for you Missus?" AND the guy that I got ahold of yesterday morning agreeing to be here about 930-10am yesterday, never showed up!
The company that I did call back on Monday during the storm, showed up just prior to 9am, I sent them on their way, stupid me!
Our landscaper came over yesterday to see what his team would need to do for the Fall Clean-up and chance of all chances, his BIL is a roofer and will come over later this afternoon to give us an estimate and tarp the roof!!!

We have another storm headed our way today and thunderstorms through the weekend ...

We had a real bad storm blow through here on Monday afternoon, there have been tales of an f1 tornado, but un-confirmed in our neighborhood. A tornado did touch down closer to the Grand Canyon, so we figure we just got skirted by it ... did loads of damage!

Finally got a roofer here!
And yes, you are correct sir caseydog it's gonna be a whole new roof, the damage is much more than what we can see from the street!
Now I need to contact the insurance guy and see how we should proceed ... my days are more than full ... I still need to get the grocery store...
