Plans for today (2023)

I am up early, at the Audi dealer for my annual State inspection, so I can renew my license plates. They'll check all the fluids, and do a wash and vacuum on the car.

Then, over to The Container Store. They have a roll-aboard (luggage) that I like. I need a new one, my old one is really heavy, and doesn't hold enough stuff. It's at least 25 years old, so it's time.

I need a few things from the grocery store.

I need to stay up as late as I can to start getting my sleep cycle back to normal before I go to Houston.

Update: While waiting for my car at the Audi dealer, I got an email from The Container Store, with a coupon for 25% off any one item. I place my order to pick up at the store, and saved 80-bucks! :)

Have you lived there?
I'm off to giggle cleavage lol

I've been to South Carolina 6 times for 2 weeks at a time for vacations. I don't like their BBQ (it's not the cooking method, it's the sauces). I prefer Texas and Tennessee style BBQ. I don't like their shrimp and grits (low country style), I prefer Louisiana Cajun style. Much of their other southern food is like any southern fare (biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, etc.) but I can make that myself. Same with most seafood except I didn't bring my oyster shucking tools and we didn't have a steamer, so we went out for oysters.

What I'm into is that fresh seafood! While we were there I made bacon wrapped crabmeat stuffed shrimp, crab and shrimp chowder, fried shrimp, crab cakes, etc.

Just froze 2 crayfish that a guy I know dropped in for me. Swaps for stuff during the year. Took some tomato sauce and pickled onions.
These were caught yesterday in kaikoura about 3 hrs north. He has a bach/crib/holiday home there.

I brought home a pound of fresh blue crabmeat (I froze for transport). I'm making crabmeat stuffed mushrooms tonight and some prosciutto wrapped asparagus topped with goat cheese and tomatoes.

Sounds Devine. I will have fresh asparagus in September (spring) from our garden. I love it.

I’m expecting a crap day at work. Over half the group are out for one reason or another, which means it’s down to just two of us today.

At least I’m not on call. When 6PM rolls around, I’m done for the day, and there’s half a chance we’ll get cut loose at 1PM because of Good Friday.

Haircut this morning, then a few items to buy at Kroger, then go to the bank for a new debit card -- twice, because the new car didn't work. I had to go back to get it fixed. Par for the course at my bank.

This evening, try to do some cooking for the brown sugar challenge.

CD

Shopping for ingredients for hot ham tomorrow. Kids are looking forward to it. Repeat of last weeks. With salads and dauphinoise.
Betting on horses today.
Currently watching food that built the world. Today is Turkey tv dinner.
Love these programs. Racing starts in 3 hrs

Plans for this week, more like:

It’s supposed to be sunny and in the 70’s/20’s this week, so I’ve got to take the Christmas lights down outside and I’ve got to get the mower going after five months of slumbering in the shed and there are a ton of weeds to pull in the landscaping.

I am leaving for the airport a 11AM. American Airlines screwed up my change in reservation, so I had to make a mad scramble to fix the problem, which cost me $340. This has become the most expensive flight to and from Dallas and Houston imaginable.

I opened one of the two a day envelopes from PNC Bank today, and they seem to have come to the conclusion that the $415 dollars in women's clothing purchased on my debit card were legitimate. Words can't explain how much I hate PNC Bank. They bought my bank of 20 -plus years, Compass bank, and proceeded to make it a miserable POS financial institution.

First order of business upon return to home is to remove every single penny I have deposited at PNC bank. It is only about $80,000 dollars, so I figure they wont give a 💩. They are too busy buying up good banks that they can turning into #$@&%$ banks to worry about some peon who has less than a million bucks in their bank. What a miserable piece of💩organization.

My sister has been very happy with Chase, and they are too big for a vulture bank like PNC to prey on.
