Bought some fungicide, bought some rice husks and some earth and am going to re-pot about as many bromeliads as I can today. I might even have a go at cutting the "grass" (mostly weeds) with the new strimmer.
Haven't you got one of those flame-thrower things??Will make a third attempt at getting the ornaments off the Christmas tree.
We have a storm coming with up to 80mile an hour winds and widespread power cuts predicted starting around 6pm.
I think I’m going to have to cancel today’s lunch because we can’t be the reason the boys try to drive home in it this evening.
Spent some time preparing this lunch, was looking for to it a lot.
A bit miserable now
Nope, it never arrived in any form you’d call a storm!Did you get any damage? It was pretty crazy here in Kent with wheelie bins blowing all over the road but no damage.
I was going to cook a pasta challenge entry yesterday evening, but that big box of Penne pasta in my pantry was only 1/4 full. I should have checked. I need a few other things, so it won't be a trip to the store for just one thing.
1/4 full sounds like quie a lot of pasta for one person or even two...
Halve it? Or make more sauce than needed and keep for another time?Yes, but my recipe uses a 28 OZ can of whole San Marzano tomatoes. That dictates how much of everything I use.

I was in the same boat - about 1/3 of a bag, and halving the recipe I’m planning on using needs just a touch more than that, so when it’s all done, I’ll probably have one bag that 7/8ths full.I was going to cook a pasta challenge entry yesterday evening, but that big box of Penne pasta in my pantry was only 1/4 full.
I tend to use less pasta than most recipes state 'per person'. Standard seems to be 75g but I'm quite happy with 60g (less calories).I was in the same boat - about 1/3 of a bag, and halving the recipe I’m planning on using needs just a touch more than that, so when it’s all done, I’ll probably have one bag that 7/8ths full.
