Plans for today (2024)

Now I’m afraid of getting a paddling…which may make me drag my feet even more!

Seriously, it’s nearly 2:30PM…I might get started on it…

NOW TR DO IT NOW.
A paddling will seem like a cake walk, take the decs DOWN!

In case you do respond to the carrot as well as the stick- when you've taken them off the tree (and only then) you have permission to scour the internet for some pretty yet classy little hand blown glass heart baubles that you may place on your (empty) waiting tree ready for Valentines night.
Now they could legitimately stay on there for Easter as well...

There's a new series of The Motorbike Show which I missed (this prog is not worth your time unless you really like motorbikes) so I started it on catch up yesterday.
In the first episode he visits a biker cafe called Baffle Haus.
This new swanky, clean and hip looking place is only an hour from where I live 👏
Two hours with a stop halfway somewhere warm is the maximum time for an enjoyable cold winter ride and I think I'm recovered enough, so it's on!

I was horrified to discover my beloved r ninet hasn't been ridden for over a year 😬
So insurance has been purchased and fingers are crossed that old petrol has not gummed up my bike, the battery is still alive and the weather in Wales is out of character and it doesn't rain!

Brmm brmm 😘

Something you'll need to get used to in Murica is that motorbikes here are mopeds. Grownups ride motorcycles (or the short term, bikes). We also do NOT have biker cafes. We have biker bars -- even if they serve food, they are still biker bars. No respectable biker bar in the US would ever be describes as "swanky, clean and hip looking."

CD 😎

Today, fire up the smoker, and bbq some baby-back ribs. It is sunny and heading toward the 60s outside. Best part, no wind to mess with my smoker.

I also need to set up my alter to the football gods and pray for the Baltimore Ratbirds to lose today. TayTay will be at the game cheering on her boyfriend Travis, which will pi$$ off the low-life Ratbirds fans to no end (hopefully the stadium will be full of swifties), and that would make me happy.

Ah well yes that could be a fly in the ointment, over here we do like to ride to a nice biker friendly cafe where you can have a good cup of tea and look at other peoples bikes. They are convivial places where it's perfectly normal to strike up a conversation with anyone about anything to do with bikes.

Deus Ex Machina started it in Australia. I went to the one in Milan, it is the nicest vibing cafe/restaurant I've ever been in, everyone was happy, how often does that happen in a place where the general public congregate?!

I believe they have one in America somewhere. You also have The Bike Shed (Moto company) in America somewhere and that's about as hip as it gets.
I'm sure the Distinguished Gentlemens Ride must be popular over there? If so the clean cool cafe's are either already there or on their way!

Almost there. About an hour left until just right. I'll start to sauce them about thirty minutes from done, so the sauce can caramelizes a little.

Yoga (I honestly don't like doing it but the damn stuff works really well 😆) and then monday jobs with my mums financial advisor and solicitor that I really didn't want to do so pushed it to today 🙄

Then a job so girly I can't believe I'm going to fess up to it here 😁

I booked a thai foot massage last week (for tomorrow) I've only had one foot massage ever in my life, all I really remember is getting quite cold because I had to take my trousers off.

So I bought some wide leg trousers that I can roll up high easily.
Bright pink trousers that I then got carried away with and bought an entire outfit to work around them 😮
So yer spent all my pocket money on a foot massage outfit and don't even know if I'll be going again 🤪

Better check today the outfit works hadn't I 😂

Yoga (I honestly don't like doing it but the damn stuff works really well 😆)
I did yoga for a short time (self-directed, at home) and really enjoyed it, but it falls into the same category as exercise in general and all the various stretches my doctors tell me to do - it only works if you actually do it!

I find I’d rather have a mug of tea, sit on the sofa, and get caught up on the forums.

I’ve had my feet massaged twice, as part of a larger massage, but while it was only a temporary solution, it did absolute wonders for my plantar fasciitis.

all I really remember is getting quite cold because I had to take my trousers off.
Yeah, that’s a red flag:

“Hi, I’m here for my appointment with my new hair stylist.”
“I’ve got you checked in. Just through there and go ahead and get them trousers off.”

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt (and the cute shorts and slip-ons and straw hat)!

Work, and my first video appointment with a doctor. What to wear…what to wear?
You might enjoy knowing in this house if I'm laughing at something you've posted and Mr SSOAP says wot u laughing at I say oh Tasty posted blah blah
He'll say which ones Tasty again? I used to say the Christmas tree one 😆
But recently your name changed to Tasty The Dandy 😂
BTW that's not derogatory it's referring to the 17/1800's Beau Brummell, ruffle shirted type dandy from back when men were allowed to enjoy dressing with a flourish.

My birthday present one year was to pay an exorbitant amount for a 1960’s-era peach ruffled tuxedo shirt, unopened in its original packaging, so I didn’t see that as derogatory at all - quite the opposite!
