Plans for today (2024)

Didn't have any plans for today, which was fortunate, because driving down the hill to my son's gym, the car started making ominous scrunching noises. Off to the mechanics, who removed the front left wheel and discovered that the gubbins that was attached to the wotsit had nadgered the thingumyjig. 2 hours later of sitting around in a mechanic's shop, off we went to get the spare parts. Should be ready by 5pm. Hope so, cos I've run out of beer and I'm $85 lighter.

Been a busy last 2 days.
Drove to the capital without being fined for some obscure reason.
Got a warning light issue on the car sorted, applied for a new passport, did my shopping, socialised, bought shade cloth, send a fortune on a new battery for my solar system and more.
Plan for tomorrow is to drive back, install wifi dongle to my solar inverter and hopefully manage to get the new battery installed 🤞

Wait till you see the traffic here!
You'll reconsider.
I used to have a motorbike....
What bike did you have?
Wotcha mean about the roads? Motorbikes are great in terrible traffic and even better when there’s none! 😂

When I read “for my solar system” I thought wow she has a whole solar system, very Star Trek God like 😂

Honda CB400F and Suzuki gsx when in the Netherlands
Honda CB750F in Zimbabwe
It's actually not the roads that are a problem, but the driving habits with no respect to pedestrians, cyclists and bikers.
And wearing leathers at 40 + oC is no fun either

Nice. Smooth and reliable.
I have a Suzuki GSF1250 patiently waiting in airport parking in Spain. Great for covering distance.

Roads driven on like it’s the Wild West are always better navigated in the biggest vehicle you can lay your hands on aren’t they 😂

When it hits 40 in Spain I have a Spidi mesh jacket that only has armour on the shoulders and elbows. It lets air through it better that a t-shirt full of holes 🤣

Remaining plans for today are to finish writing the handover email about my mums affairs for my brothers.
I’m finding it stressful as I know once I send it the fighting over who takes the next turn will start.
This is giving me a headache and making me delay writing it.

But it must be done, the alternative is we don’t rotate yearly and I carry on doing everything forever until her demise.
So I must man up… hot chocolate first, and maybe a snooze.. me prevaricate, never 😂

Do some more laundry, finish up the big batch of birria I started yesterday for dinner tonight plus a later dinner, divide up a couple of family size chicken thighs that were BOGO, as well as 2 packages of Italian sausage, and hopefully work on my mini Venetian project a little.

Update -
Email written and sent. I also messaged the group that it’s been sent to so they can’t say they didn’t know.
Oddly (or not so oddly) my headache lightened about 20 notches once I’d pressed send!

And on the upside (my favourite side) Boots (for those of you not from these parts it’s a chemist) delivered all the soaps etc plus some nice Liz Earle face wash stuff I forgot I ordered so I’m off to have a nice hot shower, use my new products and maybe do a face mask or something else nice for myself!

Might just put my messages on mute for a few hours before I go n do that, I think I deserve a bit of peace n quiet 😊
