Our plans were to not do much.
We sort of did that, ish.
Had to drive into the city to (not) get the lawnmower replaced under warranty. They wanted to replace it, but didn't have any in stock anywhere that featured the self-propelled drive that ours had. Past tense. They would have swapped it out there and then if they had, but they don't. So we need to ring the lawnmower maker company tomorrow to discuss it with them. We're told the closest stock is 300km away which they should pay for the shipping according to the people we bought it from (fair enough for a warranty claim). It's just over 2 years old with a 4 year warranty. It's just the shop didn't have any self-propelled ones off the same make at all.
Then into the supermarket to pick up some bits they didn't have yesterday ( green chillies and my herbal tea bags) then home for lunch.
Sat down to watch a film but had to stop and round up all the chicks because a thunderstorm came through and neither set of chicks have encountered rain before and the flock tends to gather on the verandah in storms to stay dry which would mean the 6 week old chicks would not be able to get access to their cage, so we locked them in to keep them dry and safe. They're a long way from being waterproof yet! One of the cockerels is missing most feathers at the moment. How he doesn't get sunburnt is beyond me. And the 3 week old chicks just had to be brought in full stop.
Then we tried to watch the film again and kept losing the internet (satellite bb doesn't do walls of water between you and the satellite or the satellite and ground station particularly well...) and then we finally lost electricity! So we quit at that point.
But we finally had 30mm of rain. The last time it rained was 25th & 26th September, so it is much needed.
Of course that means that the grass will now grow and we don't have a working lawnmower....
And I bought my OH's Christmas present, so that's that sorted. He says he wants it wrapped and under the tree which will be a challenge.... now to find stocking fillers for him!
