Plans for today (2024)

8am, I had a TOEFL class.
I got the car back yesterday. Whoopeee, after 6 weeks virtually without it.
Firstly, I filled the car with petrol. Then, I went to get drinking water (tap water here is appalling). Then I went to pick up a couple of bottles of wine, some peanut butter and a couple of cigars for the weekend. Then I went to pick up dog food and huge reinforced plastic bags for garden waste, and some sugar. Finally, I made it home about 1.45pm, mission accomplished.
And now, I'm not going to do anything else until it's time to eat!

Cigars? Pray tell? I always pictured you as a petite wee thing??

Craig's just gone out to get the wood and charcoal going in the BGE for the pork shoulder. I trimmed the skin and a lot of the fat off earlier, mainly so I didn't have to listen to him fuss while he was doing it. He already had a spice rub made up, just had to add some brown sugar, so it will be going on to smoke shortly. I've just got to make my special macaroni salad for which the shrimp is defrosting.

It's Monday and I was contemplating doing very little all week, except for a Cheese & Wine event Thursday evening. However, life is full of surprises.
New labels arrived for my (very limited production of) chutneys, hot sauces, etc.
Then I got a call for an event with the Indian Embassy on Friday.
Then another 2 calls for chutneys, etc.
All of a sudden, I've got my first busy week for two months!

Getting started on my Thanksgiving prep stuff - making sweet potato (American) biscuits today. Those will go into the freezer and brought along with us for Thanksgiving.
