We are in the midst of our first cold wave this season. Mid 50s as lows, low 70s as high in the next few days.
Off to cook for the Indian embassy in an hour. I've been promised some fresh curry leaves.

It's 40 here today and rainy (the high here today is 41). I think we've seen the sun twice in the 2 weeks we've been home from vacation.

Daughter does as well but talking to the Indian lady I buy from she swears by jasmine as most Indiand cook with it. I dont know if it's TRUE but I get good results and fluffy rice with jasmine.

I bought curry leaves twice buy havnt. Used yet as they have disappeared in our freezers.

They go blackened in the freezer but still taste fantastic.
I wonder if you could quite easily grow a curry leaf plant n your garden there? I suppose the problem would be obtaining the plant or seed in the first place...

I have one here, but it struggles to over winter, so I suspect it would need a greenhouse in the UK. In fact looking at mine, I think it has died this winter sadly.
Sorry, misread that. I reckon karadekoolaid would have no problems growing it.
In the Embassy residence, they've got a curry plant about 10ft high. The ambassador's wife took me there and we used some for the dinner tonight.
Then, when I was about to leave, she gave me three little curry leaf plants in a pot
(I'll take a photo tomorrow) so problem solved!

I am thinking of putting them all around my boundary. Then if the goats come and eat them, I will have naturally curried goat
