Plans for today (2024)

My plans involve going back to bed for a couple of hours until my doctor wakes me at 10am for another telephone consult. I'll need temp, O2 levels, BP all done before he rings.
Then I'll make the batter for the pancakes. Still trying to decide if it is a 2 or 3 egg mixture and if I'm going to be naughty and sneak in some pikelets that hubby might not know about.

Then write the card hubby bought himself for tomorrow...

And I need to read through a knitting pattern for a friend who is changing her style over to patterns that are not for a specific needle combination and adjusting her style so get patterns can be written for low vision accessible.

Then if I've enough energy left, I might try reacquainting myself with the hoover... but that's low down on my list of priorities.

Sound far far too productive to me, I need a cup of tea just reading all that 😂

Not feeling it today (think adrenaline in the local anaesthetic from the minor surgery yesterday had me forward spending energy I didn't have) but still hoping to squeeze out making the breakfast bars I didn’t manage the other day (due to missing ingredients), some pancakes and I have a hankering for Kha Gai soup which I’m sure must somehow be good for you?

I love a breakfast bar!
My plans for today involve getting some fresh bread (already done), peeling some artichoke hearts and making a recipe for "mediterranean pinwheels" which I saw on Instagram, or somewhere like that. Then we've got friends coming for "lunch" later on.

Mediterranean pinwheels, that’s intriguing!

You look scared stiff. Is Mrs T's hair going to turn in to an electric green and pink Afro???
I texted that pic to my brothers, and the notorious Lee said, “You look like a man whose wife is about to spend $500 on a haircut.”

She’s actually not a shoo-in for the stylist, she’s going through a grueling interview first to see if the stylist will even agree to work on her.

I’m not even allowed in there - one of her rules. Client only, no kids, no partners, no family or friends permitted.
I do my hair myself and frequently get complimented on it, perhaps buy her a pair of scissors and drive her home? Amazing how quickly you can acquire skills when your barnets at risk 😂

ps you really are a gem driving someone to an area just because they aren't familiar with it.

That's me (if I were a bloke) raising my hat in your direction!

You know not what you ask - this is her hair, after it’s been tamed into some sort of submission:

The General Chat Thread (2016-2022)

Full natural, it’s like this, only with 50 shades of grey:

Thank you, thank you, I’m nothing if not a gentleman. She says she can find it now, so next time, she’s on her own.

Mondays and Thursdays are my allocated crap job days where I shove everything I don't want to deal with so today I have to email my mums financial advisor requesting a full breakdown of her finances, her solicitor for an update on expediting her application to the land registry, her GP surgery to check she made an appointment to have bloods done and then read through my Pa's LPA applications before posting them off.

On the upside my living room rug which is 20+ years old and fit for the skip has just been picked up by 'The Rug Laundry' people for over the water (Wales) and they say there's a good chance they can revive it with their special rug cleaning equipment.
It's not replaceable so I'm ridiculously excited by the prospect of it being rejuvenated 👏
