Plans for today (2025)

So my query would be what ruined the piston??? They're connected to the crankshaft and have rings around them so they're not supposed to touch *much*.
Petrol/gasoline. I won't go into too many details (to avoid politics) but basically, our gasoline , which should be premium octane, (90 - 95) is actually lower than regular. When my mechanic cleaned the gas tank about 3 months ago, it was black. We're basically running our cars on kerosene.

Are you thinking if it's something else he might not get as many compliments? I am thinking the missus will be chasing him around with a cast iron skillet if it's anything else but cooking!
I was only joking, because I mostly work nights! Dinner parties are the most common. Last week I got home at 11pm; the week before, 12.30am. It comes with the job.
Incidentally, my missus probably couldn't even lift a cast iron skillet, so I'm not worried
(she's very supportive. She just worries about me coming home in the early hours.)

Sitting at a diner now:

Just dropped MrsT at the airport. I have to swing into the office on the way home to print out some tax documents, then the grocery store, then goofing around a bit.

I do have to work tonight for about an hour. Other than that…’60’s-‘70’s Italian horror/mystery/thriller movies for the next week…and pizza.

That diner looks like a remodeled house? It's pretty nice digs for a diner, looking at that photo. What's upstairs?

I'm about finished with my cup of tea and ready to move on to coffee. I didn't end up getting any baking done yesterday because my lower back was bothering me so I figured standing on my feet in the kitchen for a few hours wasn't such a great idea. I am going to bake those berry muffins this afternoon.

Yesterday I stewed lamb bones in red wine in the slow cooker (while I laid in bed being a bum) and deboned them last night, then added onion and mushrooms with tomato sauce and tomato puree to the slow cooker. I have some ground beef, ground lamb, and ground Italian sausage I am going to brown and add to the pot in a couple hours. I need to roast some garlic, too. Pasta tonight!

I really need to clean out my closet but not sure I will get to that today, maybe tomorrow.

Upstairs? More diner!

…and it is a remodeled old house.
I bet that was a hell of a house. I would love a house like that (as long as it's not on a terribly busy street, which I suspect it is).

So, I never got around to baking my berry muffins (again). I started watching Bohemian Rhapsody and got sidetracked (even though I have seen it already a handful of times). I got all the beef, lamb, and pork going in the crockpot and I boiled and peeled some eggs so DH can have a quick and easy breakfast in the a.m. as he is going up to the Italian American Club to make wine with his cousins in the morning, that way he won't have to get me out of bed. I figure I can get up, drink my tea, and bake the muffins before he gets back.

It’s on a side street, off the main road, and close to the interstate, so it’s sort of the best of both worlds. That’s where I usually have breakfast if I’m dropping MrsT off for an early flight.
