I do like a nice table cloth and a bit of good table setting. I love a good photo with the food looking good and the frippery around it supporting the food.
Reckon I'm not the only one here who likes this.

So post here your table once set (or part of your table) and any other table settings you've seen and like. Doesn't have to be current, just something you did or you like.
The Whitehouse table decor for the Kenyan president was interesting, had gorgeous flowers so I'll kick it off with that one.

Makes my efforts to throw a tablecloth on the table every now n then seem quite poor 😂

I’ll have to find an example, but I love the rustic simplicity of farmhouse tables, whether it be in Italy…or Ireland…or Sweden…or Iowa.
Me too.
Although I like almost all table settings, with the exception of large flower arrangements in the centre that stop you from being able to see or talk to the person opposite you! 😆

I'll have to browse through a pile of photos, but when we do a dinner at home, my wife makes the table better than a 3 star Michelin joint!
Last 3 times I went to Michelin starred restaurants there was virtually zero table dressing and no table cloths.

Personally I'm not keen on table cloths or frilly, fussy table settings. Not even keen on flowers on the table.

Christmas is usually a good as it gets here.

I actually don't own any other tablecloths. To be honest, we consider it lucky if the table had actually been wiped down before the placemats are put in place. That tablecloth was given to us by my mother.

I love it, all of it, minimalist, rustic or grandiose.

I cannot abide sitting down at a dirty table, at some point my arms will be resting on it (yes yes terrible manners 😆) and getting crumbs or oomska from previous meals stuck to me is gross.

But then I'm the sort of person that's wipes the table on an aeroplane (you'd be horrified how much grubby brown and black gunk comes off).

I have a lot of tablecloths and never shy away from buying more but I've loved fabric, since a toddler so it was never going to be any other way.

This fabric is winging its way to me as we speak. What nicer than a ocean table for 7 fish courses?

They can keep the snobby pantomime associated with a good table setting and just bring on the jolly carnival of frippery!

My dreams contain a big family table with a nice setting, not too fussy, but a little bit of effort visible...not there yet🫣...

For Christmas I do a little more, but never quite to my desire' s fancy...

When I was divorcing, it was quite the shock, my Mom literally gave me plates, and pots, I had nothing of the kitchen items...the flat was completely empty, and it needed to be set up for my kid and me from scratch...

The kitchen table that I currently use, is at the same time a prep station...and the fruit bowl resides there...and it was a hand-me-down from my Mom,i.e.from the previous owners of their new flat...it is good and sturdy, but too big for the small kitchen, and I need to re-invent the storage...the constant rush isn't contributing much...it is a process torn in between job, a kid, healthcare, parents, boyfriend, domestic daily chores...but it's moving. My boyfriend helps a lot, he is a darling.

Plans are to buy a new table( finally, after 7 years), hopefully😆😅

I did have some beautiful flowers, on a bare table, but that's not even close...😅

For outdoors or cottage set up, surely, rustic, traditional, yes, all flies...my favourite paper magazine was the french Arts& Decoration, aw...a fusion of antique/or oldfashioned, sometimes minimalist, sometimes maximalist...

One day, though...😊🥰

There's no rush is there? and it's good to have things to look forward to, no need to run yourself ragged trying to make everything happen at once.

This is what our table looks like right now, about as basic as it gets:

I never have gotten around to ironing that cloth, obviously!
Ironings for the brain dead, creases equal laissez-faire chic, oh yes!

Lovely colours, love the accents in the crockery going with the tablecloth.

I'd be very happy to have food at that table!
