Secondeded, however I hope it will be an ingredient that is available in my neck of the woods.
I checked again, two scources exists. Royal Estates and where "other crops" have been grown. The latter might be interesting if they are still growing "other crops" though.

It's done to try and break an age old problem over there.

Some how I thought it'd come down to crumbles, but no, it's gone to another desert
MrsDangermouse with her Rhubarb Eton Mess.
Now don't forget, wash, dry and put away everything that was used, in the interests of safety. No eating in bed either.
Congratulations @MrsDangermouse
Over to you.

Thanks for choosing my entry:woot:
I hope people have got lots of rhubarb inspiration with all the fab recipes posted - it was a great choice of a fruit (or is it actually a vegetable?) that has fallen in popularity over the years. Hopefully it'll make a come-back - there are certainly plenty of ideas here to get people started!

Ok for the next challenge...
Its something that I think is available pretty much all over the word but in many different forms and varieties.
And if its not available then its pretty easy to make it yourself.
......I'm talking about CHEESE!

Cheese is one of my absolute favourite foods and we always have a selection of different cheeses in the fridge - its such a versatile foodstuff that can be either the centrepiece of the dish or an ingredient to complement something else.

Deadline: midday Monday 6th Feb......I'm looking forward to seeing all the cheesey-goodness :hungry:

A popular choice of ingredient, I think. Well, most of us like cheese (in the case of vegans there are cheeses made from vegan sources available). Though I have a sneaking feeling that @Yorky's choice of cheeses might be somewhat limited in Thailand. Its really difficult to choose an ingredient available everywhere. I remember I chose mushrooms once thinking they were available everywhere but no - almost impossible to buy in Barbados (where we had two contributing members)!

I'm looking forward to it. An excuse to buy some cheeses I don't normally buy, perhaps.

Cheddar is available in most outlets and mozzarella also but to a lesser extent. Bangkok has more specialised cheeses but we rarely visit there (I bought some blue there a few years ago and my wife binned it because she thought it had gone off). Red Leicester and Lancashire were available a couple of years ago but they seem to have disappeared now.

Phew! At least you can get cheddar and mozarella... it must sometimes be quite frustrating not to be able to get Western ingredients.

When I first moved here, potatoes were very scarce (early bird job). However, other vegetables and fruit are plentiful (in season) - we probably have a better selection than you do. Beef is tough, chicken is a little bland but pork is excellent. Local seafood and fish (mostly freshwater) is available. None Thai herbs and spices are becoming more available all the time.

And vegetables are very reasonably priced (to my eyes). My wife bought this green oak from the market today for 10 pence (the board is 350 mm long).
