Did some shopping today, mainly for MrsT, but I did manage to find a shirt I liked on clearance:

82558

82559

What caught my eye was the dark bit under the collar, but I like the little cuff detail as well. Yay for me!

caseydog how's Dad doing?

Doing better. He is ready to move back to the Senior facility, but we are trying to get a rehab room for him there. Hopefully, he will move today. We want him to spend a few weeks in rehab and physical therapy before returning to the apartment, so he is less likely to fall again. In rehab, they can also make sure he takes his two most important medicines on schedule, every day.

Since Saturday, he has been off IV medication, and just taking oral antibiotics, and his catheter is out. He can sleep more comfortably. He can also get up and go to the bathroom. They have been getting him out of the room for walks everyday, too.

He had an infection and went into full septic shock. The IVs were antibiotics. One week of that, and now he can go to oral antibiotics for two weeks. I had a similar infection a few years ago, and was on IV antibiotics for about 5 days. That's normal treatment.

I'm thinking that was my Mom too.
When I found her in bed, she was very lethargic and it seemed like once they started the IV in the ER room, she was alot better.
Stayed in hospital for 4 days and then oral antibiotics for 6 days.
Please send Dad my aloha dawg.

and one more question caseydog , did they find the source of Dad's infection?
Never found it in Mom ...

He stopped taking his prostate meds, and got plugged up, which lead to a UTI, which went septic. So yes, we know exactly what happened, and why.

The toughest part of this for me is watching a man who once ran a Fortune 500 company get to a point where he doesn't manage the basic things in his personal life anymore. I can handle his body giving out on him a lot better than his mind slipping away.

Same here dawg! I find this very frustrating and I'm so very grateful that I have my DH to bring back to Earth when ever I get upset...

So sorry to hear the story. Hopefully though, he will be monitored in future to make sure he takes essential meds.

For me its almost the opposite. My partner is really fit at 70, no meds, no ailments. He walks at least 3 hours a day. But he has dementia and remembers little of his past and struggles to find words. I suppose I'm thankful he is at least physically fit.
