I sliced a bit of my thumb off earlier (I suppose that makes me and The Velvet Curtain nub brothers now), so supper was just a ham salad sandwich and Cheetos, provided by MrsT.
How many points does WW allocate for human flesh?I sliced a bit of my thumb off earlier (I suppose that makes me and The Velvet Curtain nub brothers now), so supper was just a ham salad sandwich and Cheetos, provided by MrsT.
Probably more for mine due to the fat content. How many points does WW allocate for human flesh?
I’ve sat here for the last four hours with band-aids/plasters wrapped around the end of my thumb.I sliced a bit of my thumb off earlier (I suppose that makes me and The Velvet Curtain nub brothers now), so supper was just a ham salad sandwich and Cheetos, provided by MrsT.
Do you have any Butterfly bandages in the house?I’ve sat here for the last four hours with band-aids/plasters wrapped around the end of my thumb.
I was pretty sure the bleeding had stopped, so I wanted to get it cleaned up a bit and properly bandaged up before going to bed. In removing the old band-aids, I discovered that MrsT, in her exuberance to play nurse, missed the cut entirely and got the sticky bit directly on top of the cut instead of the comfy little padded part.
Before I knew it, the damn thing started bleeding like mad again, so another quick bandaging job, just to get that somewhat under control, on top of the previously bad bandaging job.
Hopefully it holds through the night, but I have a feeling I’m off to the doctor’s tomorrow for at least a proper cleaning and dressing. I don’t think it’s a bad enough cut to need stitching, but it’s going to start bleeding again when they try and undo it.
Clean wound, dry it, and apply steri strips cut to the right size to hold the wound closed. Put on a clean dressing (bandaid), and wrap some elastic gauze around it so there's pressure on the cut area. Not sure if steri strips are called that in the US, they act as sutures would temporarily (see pic).I’ve sat here for the last four hours with band-aids/plasters wrapped around the end of my thumb.

Don't you keep the suture closures at home? We do. I've had one on for the last 5 days after I hosed my 4×4 down on Wednesday and accidentally found something sharp that sliced diagonally into my little finger. It would have needed a couple of stitches but I keep sutures (steri-strips or wound closures are alternative names) at home. You can buy them next to plasters in most pharmacies (UK, Europe and Australia at least).I’ve sat here for the last four hours with band-aids/plasters wrapped around the end of my thumb.

That'll teach me to read all of the new posts before I reply...Clean wound, dry it, and apply steri strips cut to the right size to hold the wound closed. Yes. Lol, if you can be bothered...
Well, you could be like my SIL and cut it open to scrape the last little bits out.
Thanks for the pro advice!Clean wound, dry it, and apply steri strips cut to the right size to hold the wound closed. No, I just have the usual assortment of band-aids/plasters that never seem to include the one I need.Don't you keep the suture closures at home?
