I'll have to see if I can find my Christmas one. Not that I really celebrate it. I'm more of a winter solstice person. Oops just realised that will actually be the summer solstice... Haven't quite got the hang of these seasons yet have I?

Oh and when it rains in Australia, boy does it know how to rain! We've finally driven out of it but there were times I was left wondering what I was driving on...

I'm in Sydney. Usually hot and well known not to get cold. It hasn't rained for months. It had now. We brought it with us... Our friends have asked if we can leave it here please. Willingly despite being it at home. just getting into the car this morning involved the need for waterproofs... Just to cover the 5 meters from the veranda to the car. We could have drowned in the space in-between.
And as for the drive here, at times just knowing what you are driving on would have been useful. I think more often than not it wasn't tarmac. On several occasions I was exceptionally thankful I was in a 4x4 with height as well as control but even holding 20-30kph below the speed limit was difficult.

@morning glory. Happy birthday.

Sorry it's so late in the day. Things going on at home and in a touch distracted. :(

Chickens are boots that need company so yes if buy her a friend of I was you. Something younger than her. What breed is she? Isas don't tolerate other breeds well, so if she is one you'll need to be careful with introducing them to reach other but even if they don't appear to spend much time together, with them being social, they do need each others company.

Sadly I don't have anything available, I'm actually in Sydney this weekend (and visiting the blue mountains) otherwise I could have brought one with me for you to have.

You are just gorgeous. What a generous thing to offer.

Tony is all white. No idea of her breed. My daughter bought 5 chicks for $20 off a fellow in our village 2 years ago. 3 turned out to be male so I gave them to the fellow I buy feed from to give away. One was a stunning black colour, one red & one mottled. The other chick was more of an Isa look.

I bought feed on Friday but he didn't have any birds at all to sell.

Life here has been oddly hectic too so I didn't see this until this morning (Sunday).

So glad you made it safely through the crazy weather.

I drove to Bathurst & back yesterday (35 min each way) and drove through a few downpours. It looks like the previous mayor stayed true and has fixed that flood zone at Kelso where the Macquarie River comes in. A few years ago I had to take my son to his specialist appointment in Bathurst & had to drive through flood waters. Even guided by a team of State Emergency Services volunteers and the Rural Fire Service volunteers it was absolutely hair raising.

We have a few family members who are of a 'certain age' so I always put our address on the back of the envelope in case it needs to be returned to us, I know that sounds a bit harsh but not everyone in my family bothers to keep the rest of us updated.
