I've never even heard of a unbalanced load. I just bung the clothes etc. in and press 'on'. Everything gets washed at 40 C.
It's more common with front loaders but can happen with top loaders. We had a front loader in our laundry room in my apartment complex and it caused all kinds of problems so it was removed a couple weeks ago. Allegedly, there is supposed to be a sensor that detects the imbalance and corrects it. I rarely had that problem with the washer I had in my house. It was an LG. They make good machines.

Perishing here today. One venture out to buy some food and predictably, we saw two apemen swaggering around wearing shorts.

Presumably, they want people to look at them and think, "Oh, he's hard." No, most of us think, "What a prannet."

I've never seen a top loader in real life, only in movies, they're not common in Portugal.

My washer is a top loader. It replaced my previous front loader. I've owned more than one of each, and I much prefer a top loader.

When I was growing up, I never saw front loaders. Everyone here used top loaders. Front loaders started to become trendy within the last 20 years, and gradually became more popular than top loaders.

The new addition to my life. Finally got a heater that seems reasonably decent and hopefully won't send my electricity bill through the roof.
