Great news:

My eldest stepson will move to a live - in accomodation at January 30th, which means that we'll be free of caring for him 24-7 for the foreseeable future. He's been on the waiting list for this for a very long time, and it's finally got a definite date. Lockdown or not, he's allowed to move in there so we're pretty relieved.
Just three more weeks and we'll be out of this constant state of stress and more importantly, my stepson will finally receive the care he needs. I hope he'll be happier there where there are more people like him. He's never had a friendship in his life, I hope this will change that.
This is great news, Windigio! All the best to everyone in your family with the transition. 🤗🤗

Perishing here today. One venture out to buy some food and predictably, we saw two apemen swaggering around wearing shorts.

Presumably, they want people to look at them and think, "Oh, he's hard." No, most of us think, "What a prannet."
My daughter had a classmate who NEVER got cold on his legs and feet. He would wear a hoodie or sweater and winter jacket up top and have on shorts and sandals in the dead of winter. He wore shorts and sandals all year long, in fact. I sleep with a window cracked and a fan on year round. I feel cold sometimes but I prefer that over being too hot. BTW, I had to look up the word "prannet". LOL

I'm just about in tears.

Trump Supporters Storm the White House

The goal, at least initially, is to block certification of the election results, which is supposed to take place today. How many more signs of the Apocalypse do we need?

Trump could stop this with a national address to his "following." But, he's liking it too much.

This is shameful. We must look like a third world banana republic to the rest of the world.

As an outside observer I wait to see what happens when the joint session reconvenes, if Cruz and his band of Trump fluffers withdraw their objections and the proceeding are allowed to complete then this still may be de-escalated. If however they continue with the charade then violence could grow and the National Guard will be kept busy for months to come.

So far, Trump's message today has been, I know you are angry, as you should be, we won this election by and landslide, and it was stolen from us, but let's keep it peaceful (wink, wink... nudge, nudge).

What he has not done is say, "We lost, accept it." He hasn't done anything to calm the anger. He just says to please go home.

As for your hope, it would be nice if the members of congress challenging the election results would come to their senses, and realize that this stunt that has zero chance of succeeding is not worth tearing our nation apart. But, I don't have high hopes for that.
