I've been saying he should be charged with about 20,000 counts of murder for how he handled safety protocols during the pandemic (making fun of people who wore masks, having his minions remove safety warnings in arenas where he had his rallies). It's been estimated that 130,000 deaths in the US could have been prevented if everyone wore a mask, avoided large indoor gatherings, and distanced themselves, but I can't blame him for all of those deaths. We could make the charge for 20,004 deaths.
There were some rumors that he wanted to wear a Superman costume under his suit on the day he was released from the hospital after getting the best medical treatment for COVID19 (while the average person is sent home with a "good luck"). He was talked out of ripping open his dress shirt to reveal the iconic "S".

He actually sounded human when he spoke from the hospital. I was hoping he had come to terms with how serious things were and would champion mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing. Instead, he continued to dismiss those recommendations by the experts. Like it or not, people pay attention to the POTUS and I know several people that don't take it seriously SOLELY because he doesn't. As we saw yesterday, people listen to what he has to say even if it's not in their best interest or the best interest of the country.

Crimes against humanity comes to mind.

Do he really think he could be elected again in four years time. :hyper:
Trump is not able to think of anyone but himself. Of course he thinks he can do anything he wants so he might try to win the bid in 2024.

Six people in the administration resigned yesterday as a result of the riot. Many more are going to distance themselves as he continues his "crash and burn" exit from the WH. I honestly think the ONLY chance he has for his name to be out there in four years is to have Ivana running and who knows how many would jump on that bandwagon because they truly believe he was robbed during this election.

It would have been wonderful for him to act professionally and show some class by conceding and asking his base to embrace the new leadership despite the disappointing election results.

Involuntary manslaughter? But he invoked much of it, so I guess not. Negligent homicide? I don't even know. But his defense lawyers would argue that people who were so stupid as to listen to him got what they deserved and it's not his fault (nothing ever is). Glad not too many people drank/injected bleach or consumed fish tank cleaning solution.

I think he will do jail time later this year. I don't know your statutes but there will be something there. My 2 cents.

Russ
His lawyers will find a way to wiggle him out of jail time.

There are going to be quite a few new laws written on what the sitting POTUS can and cannot do just based on all the liberties Trump has taken.

Last night I mourned the death of Bobby Kennedy. If he was still alive he could have driven Trump home rendering Trumps last thirteen days unnecessary.
Wasn't it Ted Kennedy who drove off the road (possibly drunk) and killed some girl? I am not sure what you mean about Bobby driving him home?

The other possibility is that he resigns, thereby making Pence acting President who can then pardon him. However, he threw Pence under the bus the other day so that might be a hard sell.

Just saw the news that Mitch McConnell's wife, Elaine Lan Chao, resigned today.
Yeah, my sister was telling me about it (she knows Elaine). State Department and all that. She's been getting all the inside buzz about what's going on over the past 24 hours. You know she's (Elaine) married to Mitch, right?

And isn't it interesting that some of those protestors just happened to have chemical sprays on them at the rally, before Trump suggested marching on the capitol? They knew they were going to do something in advance. And the two explosive devices they uncovered. And protestors who had weapons. And what gives with all those backpacks? Anyone notice many of the protestors (varying ages) were wearing backpacks?
