Wow, that's cold - but it's even worse here.

From today's 22F to next Thursday's -7.6F. Apparently I have to get up at 6:30 am for several days to take hubby to work. Our old Volvo (only car) has to be kept in the garage and wrapped in a wool(l)en scarf .

I love it! Our coldest day coming up is supposed to be -4F/-20C. We'll see if we manage to get to that.

When we lived in Minnesota (lots of Scandinavians there, BTW), it was pretty common to get a block heater for your car, just to make it easier to start in the winter. Some folks would carry two sets of keys so they could leave their car running and lock it while running short errands.

...and we owned a Volvo (240) while we lived there!

Cold start to a summers day here this morning at a little over 9°C. We're doing the mad changes again. Later this week we've got 2 nights where it won't drop below 18°C. Yesterday didn't reach that during the day! Not sure what today is expected to do other than be dry (possibly).

Pretty normal here, right now. 40sF at night, and 60sF during the peak of day. We usually have one or two really nasty winter storms, often ice storms, in January and/or February. It hasn't happened this year... yet.

Not to bring that subject up again, but your country has had fewer Covid deaths in total than my city has this week, so I won't be gloating when you have snow.

I absolutely hate winter, I count the days until we're out of it. My body needs sunrays to boost me.

Sad about Captain Tom, but how about that for a final year: Raise £32M, unite a nation, get to be World famous, be knighted by the Queen, become the voice of sanity and hope during this global mess, and have a number 1 record.

Not a bad last lap by any measure.
