I can't think of the name of it but there is a product you can use that will thaw the cylinder on locks. I believe it even comes with a ring for your keychain. I think I bought mine at an auto parts store.

Glad you were about to rouse hubby. You would have been a snow bunny in no time out there. ;-)

For the first time I can remember my outdoor refuse bin lids (plastic bins) are frozen solid and I can't open them.

I've had that problem when I owned a house. I usually just brought the bins into the garage (not heated, but warmer than outside temps) to let them defrost a bit. A blow dryer helps also.

Yes, we officially have more bicycles than people
When I lived in Amsterdam, I want so badly to play with the canal crane that fishes out the bikes. Like a giant arcade claw game! I only managed to ever have 1 bike stolen, fortunatly it was a real beater. I figured whoever took it must have truly needed it more than I.

It's literally called Lock De-Icer, it's a great product!

I went to check the snow before going to bed, turned on the back light, and saw this fellow helping himself to some birdseed:

Well, we got 6-1/2 inches of snow. I've already cleared the back deck, for the birds, and if I'm to stick to my menu plan, I need to hit the grocery store, so I better get started on the driveway.

I've got the apron cleared:

...and twisted my knee a bit in the process. The rest will be done with a slight limp.
