Today has been ordered up straight from hell, I think.

First, woke up stiff and sore from all that snow shoveling yesterday. That's ok, expected it, but it does make one generally uncomfortable and magnifies the crappiness of everything that follows.

Went to do the laundry and found an entire bottle of detergent had sh@t itself all down the wall, on top of the washer, the floor...everywhere. It was like cleaning up syrup - you can't really get it all up. 😞

Started the washing machine, and it appears to be doing the same thing it did last month, so I've got a call for one more house visit ($70), and if it's the same thing...time for a new washer. 😠

All that before 9AM, then I logged in for work and found that something I'd busted my azz to get done for someone else, something I'd had to work overtime for, they didn't give me all the pertinent information, so when I told them it was done, they came back with, "Oh yeah, forgot to mention I need this, this, and that as well," and the nature of the work is such that I have to start over from scratch - all because they were too stupid to tell me exactly what they wanted, and even when I'd returned the outline of what I was going to do for them, written out in very plain terms, they ok'd it and then changed it after I'd done the work. IOW, they never read my one-paragraph statement of work! 😡

Lastly, I blew up at MrsT because, as is par for her, being the tightwad she is, after making multiple trips to the DIY store to fact-gather, get samples, talk to experts, schedule appointments, have measurers come out...now that it's actually time to go in and pick out tile, schedule work, and pay some money, she said this morning that she wanted to flush the whole thing down the toilet because of the cost.

WHAT?!?!

So I really laid into her, because she does this a lot. She hates spending money, except for vacations, and that was her argument..."I'd rather spend it on a vacation."

We've been talking for 10 years about fixing up some things after the dog died, and she was the one who started the ball rolling last month, and now, after all this effort, mainly on my part, she said, "Um...no."

She's done this with car purchases, appliance purchases, etc. She's all-in until it comes time to actually spend money.

So I let her know that in no way possible, after all this work and research, are we not getting the stuff done that we planned for, and she better figure out which one of the half-dozen piles of money she squirrels away is going to pay for it, because we're picking out tile and getting it scheduled before the end of the week. So there! 😤

Then, I had to go get some birdseed, and got to the store (Tractor Supply) and...one register open with seven people in line, and it must have been slow retired farmer day, because every last person in front of me was about 80 and slow as crap and in the mood to chat with the cashier. 😠

So that's been my day so far, and I don't see it getting much better.

I hope tomorrow is a better day for you. Here's a giggle for you...

Well, my tantrum must have landed, because we're going to pick out tile tomorrow and when I got home from the grocery today, I complained that I was about to lose a button from my coat, and in the time it took me to put the groceries away, she sewed the button back down. That was a first.

Bugger bugger bugger.....
It just keeps getting worse.

You don't need to be a doctor or even in medicine to know xrays don't come with big green arrows on them for no reason at all.

So I've bust my big toe, I've totally torn 2 ankle ligaments (grade 3 tears), torn 2 ankle tendons (grade 2 tears), broken my right knee at the top of the tibia and likely done the same to my left knee (just been xrayed, results shortly).

To say I'm pissed off is putting it mildly and to say I'm reaching the end of what I can cope with right now...

It didn't even reach 30F today. I did finally man up, layer up, and go get the mail. Just one thing, and it was junk mail.

Yikes! I sure wish there was something I could do or say to make you feel a little better. If I remember some of the other things you've shared, though, you've come through worse things, right?

I know, though, that it's as much a cumulative thing as anything else that gets you down. I know it won't be easy, but you'll get past it. It just stinks while you're going through it.

You seem to get it quite windy in that part of the world. I recall a very bumpy descent into Dubrovnik a few years ago. At one stage, the captain told us we might have to be diverted to Split. When you're on a plane that's shaking about all over the place, "Split" is not a word you want to hear...
In the winter yes mate. We get the southern warm wet Yugo that send some bonkers, and the northerly Bura which is sunny and dry.The BBC forecast is usually spot on, so today it is forecasting snow on Saturday. The last snow was about 7 yrs ago. Did you like Dubrovnik ?

I know you probably don't feel like it right now, but you will pull through this. I know exactly how this feels, having reached the end of my rope with health issues multiple times. It's not fair and it's going to majorly suck, but once you're through you'll be happy you held on. We're here for you, and proud of how far you've come already

Crazy weather once again... it’s springtime over here today, the sun is shining and the sky is blue. Oh, I had to turn off the central heat and open windows for the warmth. Puzzled enough but I’m going to enjoy this nice weather going out with the dog for a walk through the countryside

New weather forecast here...

Monday -- high of 15F (-9C) and low of 2F (-16C). Like I said before, we have mild winters, but usually get one week where we get hammered. Looks like this is that week. Probably because I just got my dog groomed, and as usually, they cut off way too much fur. He's driving me nuts. He is glued to me when I sleep. I wake up in a "C" shape on the edge of my bed.

Looks like snow, too. We didn't have any last year. I don't recall if we did the year before.

38F tomorrow, so I better get gas in the car and go to the store while it is "warm."

We went to Dubrovnik one December, so it was nice and quiet. It was quite strange wandering around the Old Town with hardly anyone around and trying to imagine what it would like in the summer when things get busy. We had a walk all around the walls and generally had a very nice time.

We've been to Zagreb, too, one of the few places where I've gone to an Irish bar. It's called Sheridan's and is run by a fellow from County Offaly. Some very good O'Hara's Carlow Stout - yum. One of my abiding mental images of Zagreb is strawberries everywhere. It was May and people were selling them on just about every inch of every street.

I've never been to Split, although I have a friend from that city. I met him when we both lived in Oxford. His name is Dragan, which is more a Serb name, though his surname is a Croatian one. His father is a Croat and his mother a Serb. He used to run a puppet theatre and do shows back in his homeland after the horrible stuff in the 1990s had passed. Lovely chap.
