Cold again today, temperature here is -3C at present. We've had no snow since Wednesday, but little has melted, so pavements are hazardous. A section of the River Thames froze yesterday in West London, the first time that's happened since 1963.

It's 19F/-7C here... in Dallas, Texas. Mother Nature is giving us our annual reminder who is in charge. Even colder stuff coming, including 3 to 6 inches of snow. A week from now, It will probably be 70F/21C.

It's 21F/12F windchill (-6C/-11C) right now. That's going to be the norm for the foreseeable future.

They're predicting a whopper of a snowstorm Monday & Tuesday, around nine inches, if not more. We'll see if it pans out.

We are going to "warm" up on Tuesday. :cold:

Materials for kitchen backsplash have been ordered. We're on our way with that. Should get blinds ordered Wednesday (barring any snowstorm difficulties).

I also had my annual review at work last week. I was cleared to continue working from home forevermore, but I'm not holding my breath until it's official. If it does come through, though, I'll be making one more trip to the office to get my stuff, and that'll be it. Goodbye 90 minute-to-two hour commute each way (which I haven't done in nearly a year).

Grey day here but still around 20 deg c. Sunday so family here, I'm doing Thai salad, something every one loves and take home leftovers. Easy as well. May do garlic bread?

Big commotion in my apartment building last night, once again upstairs neighbor is the culprit. It was close to midnight when I heard a loud noise from upstairs and the neighbor's dog became very agitated, I figured the neighbor must have accidentally dropped something heavy, no big deal. Sometime later, I had just fallen asleep when I heard someone yelling. Jumped out of bed, went to the door and found the neighbor who lives in front of me yelling to the neighbor upstairs from her door, because once again the neighbor was making a lot of noise at night. The neighbor asked if I awoke with the noise from upstairs or with the noise of her yelling, and I didn't tell her the truth, she was mad and looking a bit scary. Meanwhile I was starting to feel super dizzy, probably because I jumped out of bed too fast and my blood pressure was dropping, the neighbor wanted me to go upstairs and complain about the noise but I was seeing everything white and had to run back to bed. The neighbor who lives in front of me went to yell at the neighbor who lives above me, then back to her house to yell alone, and that was my night.

Seriously, this upstairs neighbor is too much trouble (ruined my favorite bed sheets with bleach, makes too much noise at night, has a dog when we're not allowed to have pets), and with all the negativity she's getting from us I don't know how she will enjoy living here.

Temperature is dropping. It is now 16F/-9C outside. The sleet has turned to snow. Very light snow, for now.

My living room ceiling is 24 feet high. It is 70F in my bedroom, and 62F in the living room and kitchen (open to the living room). Soup cooking has begun, so hopefully that will warm up the kitchen.

Hubby braved getting me outside onto the veranda today. It would be easy if it were not for the fact I can't take weight through my right shoulder without hurting it badly. I tried not having surgery 18 months ago for a shoulder injury. It hasn't healed (hence me holding out no hope at all that my ankle will heal without surgery) and reminds me daily.

He also braved showering me. This is harder than it sounds because I can't get the wheelchair into the bathroom (not normally an issue because it usually lives in the car and I don't use it) but I also can't get into the shower because of the huge lip to the DIY shower. Luckily there is an identical drain in the floor of the bathroom to the one that's in the shower so it doesn't matter where the water drains. Unluckily you need to sit immediately behind the bathroom door to use the shower head outside of the shower... I wonder if we can get a longer cord for the shower? I'll go off and investigate now... It's only 3am here

Nobody wants to go outside unless they have to. A couple of cars have driven by since that photo was taken, but snow is filling in their tracks pretty quickly. The main snow isn't due for another six hours, or so.

You live in what looks to be a rather pretty estate of houses - not what I think of as Texas at all.
