The track has shifted enough that it's not really going to impact us, other than some relatively mild rain and wind. Nothing to get excited about unless there is a dramatic change.

Don't let that Egg get blown over and smash. All the king's horses and all the king's credit cards won't put Mr. Green Egg back together again.

Yes you can - you just have to shape the terrain. This is a lakeside garden plan I portrayed with Sims 10 years ago. (Here's one contemporary tutorial).

My most awful Sims experience was about fifteen years ago, when I had modeled precise characters looking like our family and set up a lavish Sims home with the Motherlode cheat - and minutes after starting to run the play mode, the house caught fire (despite several fire alarms), my "hubby" was ignited and returned promptly in an urn on the mantelpiece. I sat with my mouth wide open for several minutes, caught my breath and rebooted to pursue a bit more pleasant storytelling.

I was thinking of a house in the middle of a lake, not by the lake. Your house looks awesome, I really like the different terrain levels, it's definitely something I will play with next time 😍

Ah, ok. Thanks for the compliment. Sims 1 and 2 were not that accurate regarding terrain sculpting in the early 2010's but there were quite a few cheats and tricks to e.g. make blurred or diagonal flowerbed edges. I don't know whether it's possible to make a floating house with Sims 4 - but you can always shape a sharp-edged "columnar hill" in the middle of a deep valley, fill the recess with water and voilà: you have an island or a house "in the middle of a lake".

I've google it and you can't actually build a house in the middle of a lake ob Sims 4,you have to build a pool around the house like I did. I actually got the idea from someone who built a boat house, the house was built to look like a boat and it was sitting in the middle of a lake, and the lake was really a pool built around the house. But, I am loving your idea of building the columnar hill and the valley with water. It also gave me the idea of building a house on top of columns, surrounded by a pool, though I'm not sure if I could built the pool around the columns. The build function on Sims 4 is very much improved and you can do really complex stuff. Next on my list is building attics and roofs with glass sections and balconies. And I do want to play with lake houses a bit more.

A couple years back, he opened it up to start a fire and the top just fell out. Broke of course. A couple hundred or so to replace and a lesson learned. The band needs to be checked for tightness every once in a while.

My favorite thing about the Sims is not playing with the Sims families but actually building houses. I find it a very creative activity and have a ton of fun with it. So after building my family's house I built two other houses. This one here is supposed to be a house on a lake. You can't actually build a house on a lake but you can build a pool around a house which kinda makes it look like the house is in the middle of a lake. Come to think of it if I remove the path between the house and the street the Sims will be isolated in their home and may die  Hmm I'm having ideas for future houses and I may even build Alcatraz next!

Anyway this house has a cool feature I built which is an underwater basement, the basement walls are glass so you can see underwater from the basement. You can't build glass walls in the Sims but you can build windows that occupy the whole wall which kinda looks like a glass wall.

This one here is a modernistic house, totally not my style but it was so much fun to build. The walls look like glass walls so it almost looks like a glass house.

The bedroom on the 1st floor is on an open floor, kinda like a loft, I love how it looks

Meanwhile, my Sims character is pregnant after woohooing in the bushes outside, so she wakes up every morning and runs to throw up in the garden. This is the part of the game I really don't like, because it looks too much like real life. The characters spend a good deal of time doing mundane stuff like cooking, eating, cleaning, using the bathrom and taking showers. It gets boring really fast. Anyway I'm looking forward to delivering this baby, other players say the husband can get really stressed out when the woman is in labor and he'll start running around the house screaming, that will be fun to watch :roflmao:

All of this is going over my head because I am not a gamer and would not have a clue about this :scratchhead:

I'm currently leaned up against the counter, with the stove on my left and the crockpot on my right.

There's a sweet potato cake in the oven and pulled pork in the crockpot...I'm trapped between competing smells.
