An unexpected thing! Due to a broken leg (plus complications) since December last, I've lost a lot of muscle power in my legs. To be honest they weren't great before. In order to raise myself to standing from a chair, I need to push myself up from the seat using my hands to lever and my arms to take the strain. In fact I used to have to do this before, but now its much, much worse. Anyway, I noticed today that my biceps are now quite firm. In fact I've never know them so pronounced and firm. I suppose I could see this as a benefit. Well, sort of...

I'm afraid not.
You need to bug them. you need to call them 3 times a day. You need to bother them until they scream "ENOUGH!" because yes, they will provide you with physical therapy. My brother had the same issue last year and I went down to the surgery and told them what they were going to die of. Within 5 minutes, he had a call. It happened several times during the year and each time, he said "nahh, you're wasting your time". Since I had all the time in the world, there was no waste. The swelling in both feet was fixed. The blood clots were fixed. And when he could barely walk without two sticks, I went back to the surgery. Insistence got us an appointment with the No1 specialist at King's College hospital in London, and the doc was not only extremely helpful, but also got my brother the physio he needed.
The NHS is a huge, monstruous bureaucracy. But you WILL get help, as long as you drive them mad.

MrsT’s sister arrives tomorrow. So far, MrsT is none the wiser. I’ve managed to deep-clean a bathroom, the spare bedroom, the pub area, and the kitchen, as well as the living room. I even burned the big brush pile out in the back yard, and got some crispbread baked up.

Tomorrow, I’ve told MrsT I’m going into the office, but I’m really going to go to the airport and work from there until her sister arrives, then back home. We have to work out some kind of surprise for MrsT.

We’ll probably have her sister sneak around to the back deck and call her from there, pretending to be back at her house in NY, and I’ll get MrsT out back on some pretense, and she’ll see her sis sitting there, something like that.

It just won't stop. We are at 42 days now over 100F/38C for this summer. Plus, we've only had 15 inches of rain... in 2023. That's 8 inches low. It hasn't rained here in August, that I can find any record of. I know it hasn't rained at my house this month.

Today...

I'm afraid not.

I know our NHS isn't in the best of shape but you can go online to their site and find lots of different exercise tutorials for many different things. The physio sent me a link to one to help keep my muscles strong and me as fit as possible now that I can't run anymore.

I'm afraid not.

I got some weights that are velcro adjustable and fit around ankles, lower thighs, arms, and has pockets so you can adjust the amount of weight for Craig after his broken leg. They weren't expensive on Amazon. I can send you the link privately if you want because for some reason if I post links to products from Amazon it also links to my account so I don't want to publicly post.
