Do you know how many pages I haven't seen in that thread? I save it for days when I feel down and need a bunch of smiles, then I can read several pages of funny and/or silly jokes/images to brighten my mood.
My DH went back to bed since he hasn't been feeling well, so I am waiting for him to get up. I can't really get started on the things I wanted to do this afternoon until then since I will be too noisy. He won't complain but it keeps him from sleeping so I will just find quiet things to do until then.

Just found the temporary awning round the side of the house that I thought had been binned on account of it being a bit green and rusty.
Happy about that, means I can set it up on the patio along with the outdoor oven and carry on while the builders sort the rest out round the corner.
Have missed my heavenly smokey pizza making friend!

Sitting in the dark trying to study for a masters exam in a computer based subject on Friday. Only I've no electricity, can't rush turning the laptop on until absolutely necessary and limited phone life available. Bad storm came through in the night and 2 strikes of lightning were seriously close. I actually heard electricity sparking, that sounds you get when you tap 2 lives wires together.
Our neighbour has lost their transformer box, and the next one along can see the broken wires where their transformer has exploded. Looks like the power lines were hit.

Surely while you’re studying for your exams you deserve a whopping mains battery pack?
I have this one that accepts a 3pin plug but there must be good Australian equivalents?
It just seems you’re often without power.

Just out of curiosity how long does it take amazon to deliver to a pick up point near where you live? I seem to remember you saying Amazon is only just getting going in Oz and isn’t that fast?

Amazon have only just arrived in Australia in the last few years. They didn't exist here except in digital music or books when we moved out here.
Post varies, but the coffee grinder I bought my OH last Monday hasn't been delivered yet.
I've no idea where the nearest parcel drop off actually is. I'd guess its where my OH works, 65km away.

Might be worth checking the delivery times to there? When I’ve been gallivanting I found delivery to town or main thoroughfare’s collection point was so much faster there was no comparison.
I don’t mean for a battery, sounds like that ship has sailed, just for future reference etc.
Even now in Spain if I select specific areas I can get 1-2 day delivery but home delivery there takes a week or more.

No Amazon in Venezuela. And no postal system either. There are a few local parcel/package services, but you have to go to their office to pick up anything sent to you.
Yep, same here.
Although they (dhl, fedex, ups) will put it on the bus for you to pick up in a town closer to you if you want.

Here is a guessing game. They'll leave it somewhere (local mechanic, local garage, local rural supplies store) and not only not tell you, but you won't know when or if it has been delivered there so you then have guess where, when and...
It's then down to you to play hunt the parcel if you haven't managed to get your mobile number on to the outside of the parcel.

Amazon won’t put up with that for too long because failed deliveries cost them money.
Soon enough they’ll have to do what they do here and photograph where they left it and send an automated email saying it’s been delivered.
