The General Chat Thread (2025)

You can’t see it there, really, but there’s seed under the snow on the deck - the birds were making like ducks on the millpond, with their little feathery bottoms pointing straight up, diving for the seed.
I guessed you fed them regularly or they wouldn’t have been looking!

Cold enough to have had snow here overnight.

I think we're outdoing even British summer's at the moment!

Phew, glad that exam is out of the way. They said it was hard and they were right. Open book which was why it was hard. I've done by best after being ill since Thursday evening. Best I can do.

13 days off and then it starts again.

Remind us what it is you get at the end of your course?

A Master's degree (currently my GPA is around the 6.6 mark on a 0-7 scale) and more importantly it will be the first qualification I have held in a field I have worked in for 27 years, almost since it started to exist!

When I was at university, there were literally no degrees (BScs) in it at all. I have had one or two Microsoft certificates over the years in it, but they are way out of date. Having not worked for a number of years, I felt it necessary to get a qualification in the field before trying to return to the workforce - that way my skills are up to date and more importantly, I prove to any potential employer, that at 52yrs old, I am still capable of learning and doing it well. I'd rather not specify the exact field here publically though.
