I don’t know anything about it, except that it looks nice and gets good reviews. I asked MrsT, and she thinks it’s the only location, a local hotel only, so she’s never dealt with them.

Yeah we booked it for $122 including taxes and fees so pretty happy with that. Hoping it's clean and comfortable and the breakfast is good. The pics look nice.

Well, DH just got off the phone with his older sister who still lives back in Hawaii.
It comes that they (sister in law and her husband) will be visiting over the Christmas Holiday with their two girls and their families in San Diego ... "can you guys see a way that you could come out too?"
SURE!
No problem I can drive it (DH still doesn't drive, great!)
I'm not the biggest fan of driving here on "The Mainland", but I don't have a choice anymore.
I'll just have to put my "big girl pants on", take a deep breath and do it.
It's a seven hour drive ... maybe we could stop at the halfway point and spend the night?
We'll see what happens.

During MrsT’s recent sojourn to Gotham (and beyond), she was sending me typical pics of landmarks and such, but in one group of snaps, was this little gem:
Simple shot of an everyday window scene, not “touristy” at all, and very unusual for MrsT, as she doesn’t normally have that kind of eye for a snapshot.
I complimented her on it and she said, “I know…I took it just for you!”

Another road trip instore for us two ... going down to the "Big City" again for a doctor's appointment, so let's make it fun.
After the doc, we'll check into a hotel and go watch Fall League Baseball.
We'll just stay one night, at least that's the plan - we'll see what the doc has in store though ...
... ya neva know, so that's why I always pack an extra set of clothes, just in case.

We loved that hotel, btw. It had a kitchen and was clean, comfortable, and spacious. I brought pizza dough and we made homemade pizza!
We got to our resort in Tennessee where we are staying for a week. I got a 2 bedroom just so we could have the extra bathroom. I just unpacked the kitchen stuff and have some ribs cooking in the oven. We have a fireplace too!

The only part that was planned was to leave and let the wind blow the thoughts from my mind.
It was eventful, including two breakdowns and rescues by the AA!
Bimbled back n forth zig zagging up the country to my only fixed destination of Edinburgh (Scotland) to meet up with my brother. Had a nice apartment opposite the castle for a couple of days.
Breakdown number 1. My poor BSA Goldstar. It’s a known fault they did a ‘soft recall’ on. That means they offer you a free oil change and ‘health check’ and hope to correct as many as possible without anyone knowing about the actual fault. I didn't need an oil change so ended up knowing all about it!
Breakdown no 2. A predictable flat battery fail. That’s on me. I could tell it was on its way out on my first day. Just didn’t expect it to fail two weeks later and only two hours from home.
They got it running, I rode about 100metres round the corner and broke down again!
Of course it was a Sunday so there was no chance of finding a replacement battery. Got ‘towed’ home, a 2 hour ride turned into an 8 1/2 hour day!
On the preceding days I had tea with friends, stayed in some interesting places and ate mostly low grade food!
Here’s the highlight
Weird seeing sausage n beans cooking in a kettle isn’t it?! I was so cold from the first break down I gobbled it down like a starved person offered manna from heaven!
The only other thing worthy of note to others is Alnwick.
The Poison Garden - over 100 poisonous, narcotic and psychoactive plants in one tiny space.
Quite a good guided tour (“don’t touch or smell anything here”) involving a satisfying level of correct chemistry and physiology, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again, especially in the winter.
The “amazing treehouse” “children love”
Really? I don’t love it! To me it looks like something straight out of Amytaville or a brothers Grimm fairytale!
Met some really lovely people on this solo trip. The majority of whom restored your faith in humanity!
Only a thousand miles so I don’t feel like I’m done yet. Will probably do a dap about to Cornwall soon
