What’s the next kitchen item you plan to buy?

It's not a kitchen item, but my patio would sure like to have one of these. Maybe I'll check the after-Christmas sales to see what I can find.

Planned and just purchased this -
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BC12NSRD?smid=A3OQHHR0H3SMZM&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp&th=1

They say it will be here today by 10pm but I have my doubts about that.

I have the original ’Meater’ wireless probe which is good but it requires leaving a second device (phone/ipad) nearby because the connectivity is poor.
I believe they’ve fixed that issue now but this one is far more reasonably priced and sounds better because its storage box connects to the probe and transmits the info to your phone giving it a claimed whopping 150 metre (500ft) range.

I doubt that too but it should be good enough to make it from the utility oven to the kitchen 🤞

I have a Meater bluetooth thermometer, and rarely use it, because I never know if it is going to work today, or not. That, and as you mentioned, your iPhone has to be about two feet away from probe. 🤷‍♂️

Basically, a Meater is no more convenient than my wired probe thermometer, and the wired one works every time.

Good luck with the new one.

You'll love it..my gf bought one and I didn't really want to buy one because we don't have a lot of room on the deck, but after using it a few times I'm happy she got it..it requires cleaning after every use, though..not like a bbq where you an just close the lid..lol

Yeah, but everything I hear about them is that they are easy to clean while they are still hot. Just scrape them, hit them with some water that flashes to steam, and wipe them down with a wet towel. Over time, they apparently season and take on a patina.

I remember you saying before it didn’t work for you but I’ve never had a problem with the Meater working, only that the connectivity is poor.

I’m currently cooking a turkey (for cold cuts on Boxing Day) using the Temp Spike and the connection seems pretty strong, it’s currently staying connected to my phone through a steel plate and three solid brick walls while I sip coffee and watch television with my family, win win 👍

Mine has a range of about 3 feet, and sometimes just won't connect at all. I sent an email to the manufactures, and all that got me was listed on their marketing email list. No help, but they constantly send me offers on more stuff to buy.

Just got a fat separator and a new measuring cup that's just the perfect size to heat the water for the years I use in my bread. Also ordered an Instant Pot that should arrive Jan 15

Good purchases!
The Instant Pot takes a tiny bit of effort to get familiar with but it’s well worth it!

I bought exactly the same mini glass measurer for making bread too 😂

After finishing the laundry this afternoon, I realized that I should probably order myself some new kitchen towels from WS!
I've only got three left that haven't been relegated to the rag bin
I prefer the ones recommended by ATK
Williams Sonoma Classic Striped Kitchen Towels - Set of 4 | Williams Sonoma
we have moved away from "kitchen towels" to "bar towels"
they are smaller, not so expensive, and for us are 'just the right size' to use and put in the wash due to "raw stuff"
ala:
Amazon.com

being a scratch cook, I my hands get gooped up with all manner that needs a wiping - which one does not wish to hang up and transfer to stuff 'later'
these are smaller, just right for 'doing the chicken/meat/pork/etc.'
most "kitchen towels" are larger and create an image of "waste"

our kitchen "basket full"
