What did you cook/eat today (March 2017)?

Odds and sods soup night tonight! My veg box came this morning, so I cleared out the fridge, and had a small amount of kale, a carrot that had seen better days, and a leek that needed using, so I fried some onion and garlic, added the chopped leek and sliced carrot, added shredded kale and the 1/2 can of chickpeas left over from the other night. Added a bit of black pepper and ate with a big chunk of fresh bread. Delish :D

Sausages, eggs and beans. Flatulence will get you nowhere.........

I can't believe to color of the yolks in your eggs! They're so dark, they look delicious.

I had a polpette rustico (meatball) sandwich and potato chips/crisps last night.

The meatballs were really interesting. They were made from ground turkey, seasonings, and breadcrumbs mixed with raisins and pine nuts.

They taste as good as they look. They are local duck eggs and around here the ducks are normally fed on rice plus what they are able to scavenge. AFAIK there is no purpose produced food that they're given.

There was a whole thread about this earlier! We compared yolk colours. @Yorky uses duck eggs. I use 2 particular types of hen's eggs in the UK which also have yolks every bit as orange. In fact... see my next post. I'll try to find a link to the eggy thread!

I had home made spinach lasagne tonight. I even made the pasta myself. There is enough left over for tomorrow, and enough pasta left for another meal in a few days time.

You must take photos next time. Do you use a pasta machine?
My decent phone is completely full up - every time I go to take even one photo it tells me to free up some space first. I think I need to buy an SD card  Yes I do use a pasta machine. I was going to roll the dough out instead tonight but I have "trying to have a nap when it's dog feeding time" injuries and couldn't manage it.

Well - delete some photos maybe - can you download onto your computer first? I don't know. I use a digital camera but it is possible to take excellent images on a smartphone. I'm meaning to write up some tips on how to take better food photos, since quite a few members are now posting pictures. I really must get on with that!

I use a pasta machine sometimes but I also roll pasta by hand. Its very satisfying to make pasta. And much easier than most people think! :D

I haven't got any photos on it :whistling: and I've uninstalled any apps I really don't need. My only luxury on there at the moment is an audiobook which is downloaded one part at a time. Like I said, I really need an SD card :) I much prefer home made pasta even to shop bought fresh stuff. To crown it all, my supply of spaetzle has more or less run out now. The Russian/German shop has closed and Lidl don't stock it as a general rule, so it looks as though I'll have to start making that too.

I'll look for the thread, thanks. I love eggs of all kinds.
My Mom used to feed us raw eggs blended into chocolate milk on cold winter days when I was a kid. She called it a Norwegian egg nog. (Mom is a true blue Norsk)
I don't know about cold weather, but I have a nice shiny coat of fur on me.
