What did you cook or eat today (April 2023)?

But you primarily make pork burgers, right?

Yes I do. Or I have done for the past couple of years. The quality of beef here is a bit hit and miss but the pork is almost always very good. That's why I changed.

Original Currywurst is usually a sausage without casing, but there're many who prefer one with casing.
TBH I'm not a big fan of Currywurst, the seasoning inside the sausage are rather mild and the sauce is mostly just Ketchup, orange juice/cola and loads of currypowder.
Probably I can't see it anymore because I've worked in a place selling Currywurst and feeding it to the staff every lunch

Last night I made a pretty great shrimp and pasta dish (jumbo shrimp, white wine, lemon, cream, red onion, mushroom, garlic, asparagus, fresh oregano and Cajun seasoning over angel hair). It was yum.

This morning I made hubby a big bowl of cheese grits topped with over-medium eggs and medium-rare prime rib slivers. I made myself 2 over-easy eggs with buttered toast and some medium-rare prime rib slivers. That was the last of the prime rib, the scraps and bones are in the crockpot for...something. I am vacillating between a tomato based pasta sauce or beef and barley soup, haven't made up my mind which. It's too hot for soup (it's mid 80s here today and tomorrow, near record highs). I think it's supposed to go back to cooler weather next week so maybe I will just debone and freeze until then. I dunno yet, LOL.

I bought 2 lobster tails yesterday that I found for $19.99 lb. They aren't very big (5 oz each) but I have some snow crab legs in the freezer I can make for an appetizer and then serve the lobster tails with asparagus and rice (asparagus was on sale for $1.49 lb, couldn't resist) for tonight.

I gotta figure out what to make hubby for his birthday dinner Sunday. Lamb lollipops (I have a rack of lamb in the freezer) or sushi takeout?

Sausage tray bake.

Home alone until after 8pm last night so solo dinner after the gym. Treated myself to a couple of glasses of cab sauv with a steak and a blob of pan fried mashed potato with grilled zucchini & cherry toms with just a touch of garlic & rosemary salt in the pan with olive oil. Easy one pan dinner.

Followed by a sliver of “Shadows of Blue” and a fig. And a few whole grain crackers that I added after the pic.

I believe that would be Jamie Oliver.
Yeah, I have heard of him but never seen him or his recipes. I am sure his stuff is quite tasty since he is famous, afterall. I am not crazy about lentils and peas are good, but I am thinking more along the lines of asparagus and rice or mashed potatoes.

I like fresh herbs for my lamb lollipops marinade.
