My parent's stock broker sent them a pecan pie from Goode Company. It came in a wooden box. My mom is like me, and doesn't like overly sweet desserts, but she said this pecan pie was amazing. Not too sweet, and loaded with butter. Eat a slice. Take a nap. Hey, I'm glad to see my mom eat something like that. She needs the calories -- her weight was getting way to low. She ate well (portion wise) for Christmas dinner today. We are always looking for new ways to get calories and protein into her.

Breakfast pikelets (TR reminded me with something he posted, we've done them most years but I had to swap out the golden syrup for honey this yeast because we're out and I'd forgotten to put it on the shopping list and I didn't have enough Maple syrup to put it in and on them.

Homemade Baklava. I had wanted to make some for the nuts challenge but never got around to it, so did in Christmas eve instead.

Hopefully this one is the table...

The Chickpea salad, strained yoghurt, garlic & coriander dressing, served on a bed of spinach with tamari sauce and olive oil, then a few extra veggies thrown in for good measure.

Hopefully the pavlova with fresh fruit...

Christmas Eve dinner, because all the family are latino Catholics, so 24th is celebrated, not the 25th.
Starters: Humboldt Fog toasts with balsamic beetroot chutney.Roast Turkey & gravy. Pan de Jamón (Ham bread). Ensalada de Gallina (Russian salad with chicken). Hallaca.(Pork & chicken tamale) Brussels sprouts with pecans & honey.
