Toast with a small omelette and fresh orange juice.

Perfect! Yeah, that Cacique was the texture of dog food, never again will I buy that. The chorizo I got from Wild Fork foods online on my last delivery looks pretty good from what I can tell (it's still frozen in the cryovac package). I will probably give it a try in the next week or so. If I don't like it, I will source some elsewhere. I wish we had Kroger here (guessing that's where you found yours). I will be in some Meijer's stores this week working on a market research project so maybe I will check to see if they have it in stock there.
Yeah, that was Kroger.

Meijer’s - I like their deli because they carry Dietz & Watson products, and they have a lot of specialty items that Kroger just doesn’t carry. Their cheese selection is pretty good.

Their produce and fresh meat, at least around here, are horrible, and their bakery as well. My wife won’t eat their baked goods, and that’s saying something.

Alcohol department is decent. Kroger has been taken over my the alkie-pops at the expense of their beer selection. Meijer’s is still decent, for a supermarket.

They also have an ok international section. Their shopping/scanning app is garbage, though, so I rarely use it.

Have fun at Meijer’s!

Ha! It's a work project in the pet food department but it's fairly simple and doesn't take long, so that will give me time to browse the stores when I am done. I get a food per diem so I will be buying some groceries since I found a nice hotel (Hilton Home2 Suites) with a kitchen. I don't really plan on cooking anything, though, mostly I will buy stuff like salads, avocados, yogurt, granola bars, etc. which is good light road food that won't slow me down. And of course I will probably not buy any alcohol, LOL, since I have to get up and hit the road for more work the following day and then drive home. I might take a few of these Stellas I have on hand just in case I need to wind down after a long day of driving around. Thanks for the heads up on the baked goods, I was thinking about blueberry muffins but never mind, LOL!

We like their pet department. When Kate was alive, they were one of two places that carried her food (Freshpet) and they had it at a better price than anywhere else.

Okay, just jotted down the notes for murphyscreek's recipe for kashmiri leg of lamb, going to start the marinade shortly. I am cooking this for Mr. OH for Valentine's dinner.

murphyscreek, when watching your video, I noticed there was an ample amount of lovely juice from the lamb. What do you do with the juice, drizzle it over the basmati rice or do you save it for something else? Just curious.

Just realized this is a boneless leg, didn't realize that before. Hope that doesn't affect the flavor.

I am not sure I like regular beets. I know I hate the ones my mom used to put on salads, those pickled beets in rings from the can with cinnamon flavor. Now I know that they are not putting canned beets on burgers, but having never eaten a regular beet before I have no idea if I would like that on a burger or not. I would be willing to try it, though.

Our preserved beetroot is canned with water, vinegar, sugar & salt.

Aussies have only discovered fresh (generally roasted with garlic) beetroot on the last 15 or so years. It’s a common salad ingredient now.

It’s always canned beetroot on burgers.

I don't think I'd like sweet flavor on my burger beyond tomatoes and ketchup.

Hi there, yes.....I did drizzle some of those juices over the plated dish. I haven't made it with a boneless leg before, but sure it will be fine. It worked ok with lamb shanks too one time I tried that.

Tom Thumb stores (Albertson's) carries Dietz & Watson. Nothing special, to me. My Kroger has a good cheese department. Great selection, and an olive bar for those who love their olives.

I wonder if other countries are like ours, where one national grocery store company operates under as many as ten different names in different parts of the country?

That's so weird. Tom Thumb is a convenience store in Florida. I have never seen one in Ohio. Albertson's is called Albertson's in Florida. Every time you mention Tom Thumb I think of slushies and that horrible hot food on the roller grills, LOL.

Kroger's has Ralphs, Frys, and more...

Tom Thumb is a somewhat upscale grocery store, only found in the Dallas area. In Houston, they are called Randall's. Both are owned by Albertson's.

A friend won a Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea at The Fullerton Sydney. Yesterday was wet on & off so it was nice to sit and while away a few hours

The mushroom custard was a little too subtle, the rosewater jelly needed less rosewater & more sugar (it was off balance) and the cute little tiger was very dry.

Everything else was delicious though. The Sling is really citrus & ginger forward and I drank 2 pots of French Earl Grey. My friend was drinking chai lattes.
