Eating out of the freezer and scary crisper. Bolognese sauce and I found a surprisingly fresh looking zucchini? that I baked with some wizzed up, fancy, schmancy, stale bread crisps and parm cheese. Food shopping tomorrow…

I can find them easy here, but they are expensive. That's why I always look in the meat department any time I am in the store for meats close to the 'sell by' date. They are marked down in price.

From my understanding the best of meats are exported , even offal we ate as kids, lambs tongue and brains etc. When last in harrods our prime lamb legs were in the cabinets. I never looked for steaks! I used to buy from black market legs of lamb in French wrapping. 40 years ago . That cheap I fed to my dog.

Finding beef is easy in Texas. There are cattle grazine a few blocks from my house...

The area I live in is called the Ottawa Valley. Some call it Chow Sh’t Valley.

Surprisingly, the ranch a few blocks from me never smells... not in the 21 years I've lived in this house. Now, in West Texas, where the feed lots are, the smell is unbearable.

I'd have to drive 30 mins to see cattle like that. I might be tempted to do a bit of rustling. We recently had about 300 sheep stolen 30 mins from me.

One thing we don't have in Texas is sheep. In fact, sheep have been frowned upon by cattle ranchers in the US in general, from a historical point of view.

Up North you can find sheep, but not in abundance. Lamb is not as popular in the US as it is in many other countries. US lamb is good, but different. It is less gamey. I'm sure it has to do with what the sheep eat.

Earlier this week, we ordered pizza and husband ate my leftovers when I was at the office the next day.
I always have the opposite problem:

MrsT: Don’t eat the rest of the pizza, I’m saving it for lunch tomorrow.
Me: I’m still hungry, but ok (I’m a gentleman that way 😉).
<12 days later>
Me: What’s wrapped up in this foil?
MrsT: Oh. That’s that pizza. I forgot all about it.
