I can find them easy here, but they are expensive. That's why I always look in the meat department any time I am in the store for meats close to the 'sell by' date. They are marked down in price.

From my understanding the best of meats are exported , even offal we ate as kids, lambs tongue and brains etc. When last in harrods our prime lamb legs were in the cabinets. I never looked for steaks! I used to buy from black market legs of lamb in French wrapping. 40 years ago . That cheap I fed to my dog.

I'd have to drive 30 mins to see cattle like that. I might be tempted to do a bit of rustling. We recently had about 300 sheep stolen 30 mins from me.Finding beef is easy in Texas. There are cattle grazine a few blocks from my house...
