There will now be 6,138 names for that dish!I like it but it’s not Goulash, so I think due to ingrained notions I might have to give it another name.
How about Shroomlash??There will now be 6,138 names for that dish!![]()
How about Shroomlash??![]()
Goulzilashti? It positively rolls off the tongue. We landed on Lash-Zit but I think I like Shroomlash better![]()
If you *ever* overcook pasta again we will make sure the whole planet knows you're a fail...Well it was experimental and I suppose really the pasta being completely overcooked was my own fault for mixing it and then leaving it for 2 hours while I went to drive Mr SSOAP about
But the pasta texture was just about passable and I love the flavour.
It’s American Goulash after a fashion.
I used an instant pot recipe for pressure cooked ziti (takes 3mins!) but I used all the spices and herbs I have in my favourite Goulash recipe which seems to be significantly more than the American goulash recipes I found.
That meant it took longer to assemble as some of them are freshly ground.
The flavour was good. I’d do it again but definitely not go out for 2 hours before cooking it next time
I tipped the overcooked pasta into a pan so I could mix it without breaking it up too much!

The recipe called for a bechamel which you top with grated Parmesan before baking but I fancied mushrooms so made a paprika mushroom sauce topping instead.

And the assembled thing before I added more vegan parmesan and grilled it.

Enjoyed it. It was fairly fast to make and hearty.
I don’t know if I can call it Goulash because although I really liked it, I did spend some time thinking I like it but it’s not Goulash, so I think due to ingrained notions I might have to give it another name.
Then to keep the authenticity ball rolling in a few decades after the name has potentially spread, more arguments can erupt over what it’s really called and what it’s origins really are![]()
