A shame. A good Thai red curry (nothing to do with Indian curry) has plenty of red chile pepper, extraordinary aromatics like galangal and lemongrass, and a whole bunch of garlic & shallots. No tomato in sight. The curry paste I bought tasted about like tomato paste with a dot of pepper mixed in.

I honestly didn't think of it as a new recipe. We had some of the liquid left over from the miso pickled mushrooms and after putting it through a sieve, I added 1cm cubes of tofu and key it for several days. It completely changed the texture and taste and was quite a surprise.pickled tofu? Do tell. Did/are you posting a recipe?
I love those "lets just do/try this" recipes, esp if they work outI honestly didn't think of it as a new recipe. I don't like it when they don't...but I'm a huge fan of success stories!I love those "lets just do/try this" recipes, esp if they work out![]()
Is that better?Sourdough, avo, chutney and tofu, beans and poached egg onunburnt toast
toast I made myself.
There weren't any tomatoes in it; just the chili paste chili's were probably inferior quality hence being made into paste and very faint in aroma and flavor. Cheap components = crappy products...A shame. They may have tried to make it very mild...There weren't any tomatoes in it; just the chili paste chili's were probably inferior quality hence being made into paste and very faint in aroma and flavor. Cheap components = crappy products...![]()
2nd thought = corp. profitI had a look at their website. According to them, the ingredients are "Spices (Including Red Chili Pepper), Garlic, Lemongrass, Salt, Shallot, Coriander Root, Makrut Lime Peel."
When I see red chile pepper in brackets, I know that it's only there as a second thought![]()
