It's too hot to grill!

Says someone who doesn't live in Texas :D

Ah, it is only 93F right now (about 9PM). Heat index os 107F. I'll smoke or grill something this weekend. I have some fresh chicken thighs, my favorite part of a chicken. I may try to do something basil-centric. Not sure. I have an idea. Could work, or could be a big fail.

Last nights Gorgonzola stuffed Pljeskavice and Cauliflower cheese. The Pljeskavice was made for equal amounts of minced beef, pork and turkey thigh. Because I'm on the low carb diet I could not use a roux so I just melted loads of cheese into hot cooking cream. I also used the balance of the meat mixture to make a meat loaf which I cooked on the grill after the burgers. We will have it tonight cold with salad. In my opinion it tastes far better cold after 24 hours in the fridge.

All looks absolutely fantastic!

I still watch him on Acorn and Britbox. Now that I have the memory of someone in his 50's, it's like they're all new.

Memory?

I'm currently watching "The Last of the Summer Wine" from the 70s. Brilliant! I've never seen it before.

I think I may have been in a few episodes.

I'm watching that now on BritBox. They have the first eight series, so that's what?...10% of the total number?

I first saw it in the 1990's, and I liked it because it was kind of heartwarming in a way, so I'd put it on and sort of half pay attention, and I thought it was just a good show for the oldies, and some beautiful scenery, but not really trendsetting.

Now that I'm watching it again, I'm paying a lot more attention to the writing, and there are lots of sly little bits that really make me laugh. I know I'll get it a little wrong, but there was an exchange between Blamire and Compo that went something like:

B: You know, he was married for a little bit.
C: He were already gettin' a little bit, I don't see why he had to go and get married!

I like funny little wordplay like that.

We've also just finished the first three series of "All Creatures...," and we're about halfway through the original run of "Upstairs, Downstairs."
