Nah - that is 'Alpha'. Alfalfa is a legume mainly grown as animal feed. But the seeds can be sprouted just like any legume. Its also called lucerne.

Origin of the word (Oxford English Dictionary):
Mid 18th century from Spanish, from Arabic al-faṣfaṣa, a green fodder.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone! 😊

I don't really think much about my own birthday, as we didn't celebrate them growing up. That meal I posted a few days ago, with the cheese-herb crusted tenderloin...that was me burfdee* meal.

For the record, I'm 55 years old. Just call me Double Nickels. :laugh:




*That's how most of the locals around here pronounce "birthday."
