That was my MIL. If there was a way to get a foreign word wrong, she'd find it.I know a couple of NE Ohioans who say, "Grassy-ass" instead of gracias. And of course, "tort-illa" (like "godz-illa"). And they weren't joking around.

Thank you mate, I must say I'm getting I don't get bored with the melon. Ice cold it's the best refresher when the temps are like they are. It was 26c at 22.00 last night.Your food always looks great, but the watermelon always looks spectacular!
For winter feed for my ponies I used to give them a lot of silage. I loved the smell.I used to buy meadow hay and spoil them with Lucerne hay, I'd buy 200 small bales every season. Plus big bales for my mares.

Thank you. My bad. It is so wonderful to learn. And it makes for great talk to pass on to my daughter.Nah - that is 'Alpha'. Alfalfa is a legume mainly grown as animal feed. But the seeds can be sprouted just like any legume. Its also called lucerne.
Origin of the word (Oxford English Dictionary):
Mid 18th century from Spanish, from Arabic al-faṣfaṣa, a green fodder.
Beautiful!From a classic American novel:
We’ll have a cow,’ said George. ‘An’ we’ll have maybe a pig an’ chickens…an’ down the flat we’ll have a…little piece alfalfa—’
'For the rabbits,’ Lennie shouted.
‘For the rabbits,’ George repeated.
‘And I get to tend the rabbits.’
‘An’ you get to tend the rabbits.’
Lennie giggled with happiness. “An’ live on the fatta the lan’.’"
Looks inviting. What taste is the Berliner?Ice cream: cinnamon, pineapple, caramel and berliner (bola de berlim in portuguese)
