What did you cook or eat today (March 2021)

Made daging masak bali.....aka Balinese beef strips. Would have to say for the simplicity of the recipe it really is a delicious dish with a seemingly undeserved complexity on the palette. It's going to be a regular in my rotation from now on.

Spaghetti with a sauce of roasted vegetables and bacon.

As I spent most of the morning preparing the bubble and squeak (aka rumbledethumps, colcannon) for tomorrow, I decided upon the old faithfull (previously frozen) pork burger with a few chips and grass.

Yes, although sometimes I made wider tagliatelle by cutting it with a knife, so I make wider sheets in the machine, roll the sheet and cut it.

The local supermarket now sells a fresh sushi line. Not bad for Western standards, I won't claim any authenticity.

It sure made for a nice lunch!

I don't always have time in the week to make pasta, so at the weekend I make a batch of dough or tagliatelle and freeze it.

Just home from my day trip with my mate butcher, we have been talking about food all day. It's bluff oyster season here so I shouted myself a dozen plus a piece of fish. The oysters filled me up.
$43 included sauce/ ketchup.

These were big fat juicy oysters, slightly greasy but not enough to put me off.
