Looks lovely. I never heard of horse mackerel... is it s different fish from the usual mackerel?
I had to use Wikipedia to translate these ones. According to Wikipédia horse mackerel is what we in Portugal call carapau, and mackerel is what we in Portugal call cavala.

I have to go research, Certainly the fish in your photo are much smaller than mackerel here.

Went off to look: They are not the same as mackerel in the UK but a type of jack or trevally it seems:

We have bigger horse mackerel - the kind shown in the photo is usually called carapauzinho or jaquinzinho, it's a smaller version of the fish very well suited to deep frying.
