What did you cook or eat today (March 2023)?

Killer Dave's 21 grain bread, toasted, mashed Avocado, Micro Arugula, Over-easy fried Egg, YUM!!!

I cooked yesterday because we're out today.

So a Persian herbed omelette (it will do 4 servings each, my bunches of herbs from the supermarket must be much bigger in Australia negate I followed the recipe to the letter but no way was 6 eggs holding that volume of herbs together and even though the recipe didn't say so, I'd removed 150g of stems and roots and put them in the freezer). I ended up using 18 eggs! Good thing we have chooks.
The sauce was a new "meat replacement" made from pea protein. I wouldn't pay $11 for it but it was reduced for quick sale to $4.50 so we tried it. It's OK, better than most. Not keen on the beetroot juice replicating the blood from the "beef" but it cooked off thankfully. I mixed it with 2 tins of tomatoes, caramelised an onion and head of garlic and added paprika, cumin and ground coriander and it was delicious. It wound work well in chilli, lasagne or spaghetti sauce (trying for bolognase but can't spell it for some reason today! ). Threw some carrots and green beans on for veg because all that had was tomatoes...

Off out for a picnic lunch today.

I haven't had Tony Roma's ribs in at least 30 years. I thought they were good, until I went to a real BBQ joint, with an experienced pit master and proper wood burning smokers, and never went back to Tony Roma's again.

Best ribs I ever had was in an African restaurant in the Orlando area. I like the ones I make on my Weber charcoal grill. Little hickory wood. I use either Webers original sauce or Sweet baby Rays

Dairy Queen (DQ for the initiated) has upgraded their legendary chicken strip basket (chicken strips, country gravy, French fries, and Texas toast) so that it now comes with onion rings (small order of each fries and rings), so we had to take part:

It was good, but I’m not gonna lie, on top of the Baked Deli Royal and handmade chips/crisps I had earlier, I kinda feel like 💩.

The price of gluttony, I suppose.

Geez! Now I want KFC with a side of their gravy :hungry:

First time making pizza in this new awesome oven. I got it to 550 with convection. The char is natural. Mozzarella Swiss and pepperoni with butter and everything seasoning, with Romano grated on top, then finished with toasted freshly cracked red Cambodian kampot pepper.

I smoke my ribs on a22.5" Weber OTG (Kettle). Mix of charcoal and hickory chunks. Usually just a dry rub, no sauce.
