What did you cook or eat today (March 2023)?

Best ribs I ever had was in an African restaurant in the Orlando area. I like the ones I make on my Weber charcoal grill. Little hickory wood. I use either Webers original sauce or Sweet baby Rays

I think the best ribs I ever had were from a carry oot joint in Cleethorpes (of all places), just south of Grimsby in Lincolnshire. Back in '82. I have no idea now of what it was called.

Had some laksa soup with onions, egg and prawns on top , my eldest stepson is coming for his birthday celebration so we had a simple meal beforehand. He's autistic and not fond of eating in general so the rest of the day will be spent eating the few things he likes. Which are hotdogs, potato chips and cream puffs.

Last night I had a big dinner salad with red and green leaf lettuce, fresh spinach, radish, cucumber, tomato, green onion, pistachios, feta, chicken, bacon, and dried cranberries. Hubby didn't have feta, pistachios, or dried cranberries. He had blue cheese, mushrooms, and olives on his but everything else was the same.

I've got a crockpot/slow cooker of red sauce going since Friday night. I started with some meaty steak and lamb bones overnight, then removed the bones in the morning and added crushed tomatoes and red wine. Last night I added chopped mushrooms and onions. I've got some garlic roasting now. I'll put the minced lamb and beef in later, then finsh with fresh herbs.

Trying to lose a bit of weight, so I’ve been eating a lot of salads lately. I’ve really been enjoying this one - hearts of palm, cherry tomatoes, a little onion, and avocado over greens. I added some baked crispy tofu for protein. Dressing was simple lemon juice & olive oil.

I’ll dub this “bolognizza” - bolognese on a cracker-thin pizza crust, mozzarella on top:

MrsT doesn’t care for pizza all that much, but she loves this. It’s because the sauce is more meat than it is tomato. It’s what I usually do with the last of a batch of bolognese.

medtran49 and those are fresh Shitakes too, right?
LOVE!
Can't get those here in Cowboyville, only dried - big difference

Yes, we have an Asian market less than 10 minutes away. They are better quality and twice as many for a little more than the grocery. I used about a third of them for the fried rice I made a few days ago.
