What did you cook or eat today (March 2023)?

Pan-fried thin chicken breast, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, and lemon pan gravy.

I am determined to make a Grandma Pizza the way that DH & I like it!
But dang it all, the stars are really against me!
I had just, I mean just bought a 3 pack of Dry Active Yeast 4 days ago; went to proof them prior to making three recipes of my own Pizza dough and dang it all!!! They aren't active, they did not proof in the least bit!
SO!
I had two envelopes of Instant Yeast, which I don't usually use in my recipe, but what the heck.

I'll leave it in the `fridge for 3-4 days to cold ferment and get all lovely and yummy and try this again.
I still have half of a 28 ounce can of those hand crushed San Marzano tomatoes and Garlic Olive Oil from the previous recipe that I deleted by the way, so a re-do we shall do.
I've got Round Two in the hot box right now ... wish me luck 🤞

I had one thing planned, then decided at the last minute to switch things up and make short rib tacos. I usually make them in my pressure cooker. Prepped everything, got the ribs in the cooker, and the damn thing wouldn’t pressurize.

We couldn’t figure it out - tried a whole bunch of stuff but it just wouldn’t heat up. Looks like the pressure cooker is kaput.

I offered to salvage it (use ground beef instead), but husband said let’s just order pizza. So he did.

Fast forward to a little while later, I’m starving, asked him when the pizza was coming, he went to check…and discovered that he’d forgotten to click the button to actually ORDER the pizza.

SO HONGRY. Send help and/or pizza.

Since sunset is an hour later starting today, I fired up the Weber gasser and grilled some chicken wings. I brushed them with some Stubb's Sweet Heat BBQ sauce, spiked with some extra hot sauce.

That grill is 22 years old, and it has been outside all winter. Fired right up. :okay:

CD

What time’s your appointment with the divorce lawyer tomorrow?

Half of everything? I think that entitles you to all of everything, and he’s gotta go out and get some more to give you as well!

A coupla more tweaks and we may be there.
My recipe for Pizza Dough is head and shoulders above that You Tub guy's.
Here's what cracks me up, DH was giving his opinions on how I could do this better, and he made perfect sense!!!
Then he says, "Now, let's not get away from our Tried and True way of making pizza for all these years... that's really the best Pizza, really!!!"

A favorite diner in Standish, Michigan features, these incredible donuts and other goodies. New people in other countries have the same association of police and donut shops?

The diner serves breakfast, any time of day, which I always love. And, each time I’ve been here, the food arrived. About five minutes after placing the order. Seriously.

Among the attractions are a functioning jukebox from at least 50 years ago. I played Elvis, The Beatles, and Frank Sinatra, and it only cost me one dollar for six plays.

This is the first time I noticed this picture on the wall:

This is Frank Sinatra at age 23. He was arrested for the crime of Seduction. It was a crime in 1938 to seduce a woman of good virtue, and thereby corrupt her reputation. It was later found out that Frankie’s partner was a married woman. This turned the crime into Adultery.

He met bail, and the charges were dropped a few hours later.
