Just made 5 portions of fettucini.
Actually 4 and 1 of the other part of the machine. Angel hair? Just thinner than spaghetti

Other than that, got some chicken pieces that needs finishing. Soaking dried mushrooms. I'm thinking of coq au vin with dried (Chinese) mushrooms & oyster mushrooms.
How's that for fusion

Don't let that steeping liquid go to waste!

First thought that was about the pasta, then figured, no, probably the mushrooms.
I generally use the liquid. Just gotta check to see if there is a lot of dirt/sand in the liquid.
I eat/use the stems as well that most people say should be discarded.
Maybe I am a real omnivore :)

You haven't lived until you've done a "Tim-Tam slam". And no, that is not a euphemism.
I checked out some wikihow instructions on that (which are hilariously detailed) and…I think I’ll pass.

Now I’m thinking up things it could be a euphemism for! 🤔

Was after a fast fix yesterday lunch time and had succumbed to the reviews for a fresh mushroom and truffle stir through thing I’d bought that was sitting in the fridge for a good week or more.

Was not impressed at all, so much oil, almost no flavour and the tiniest amount of mushroom I’ve ever seen for “two servings”

I hate food waste so the left overs went in the fridge for a pimp my pasta revival today.
Roasted some sliced portobello mushroom with salt, garlic, onion granules and Worcestershire sauce for some nice meaty shroom flavour and bolstered the pasta with garlic pepper, smoked salt and a generous teaspoon of Dijon. Put kitchen towel in the bottom of the pan and shook it to absorb the excess oil.

It fixed it but I’m still sore it was so bad yesterday that I wont be buying it again, it created more work than it saved! 😂

Waiting for the photos, because I get to cook and the rest eat and take pictures.
Full Indian meal last night for 10 medics, all friends of ours.
Mumbai mix ( peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, sev, raisins and chaat masala) then aloo tikki (sweet potato croquettes with a smoked tomato chutney), followed by fried, marinated paneer (Indian cheese) with sweet lime pickle, and vadas (deep-fried lentil balls) with tamarind chutney.
The plastic surgeon said to me : "Wow! I've just eaten 4 things I've never eaten before!" so I said "hang on, there's another 6-7 to come
